No automatic alt text available.

Welcome to our Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop. This month we will be sharing projects inspired by our favourite Techniques.
You are currently here with me Kim Oliver -Australia
The full line up closer to the end of this post will guide through all the projects and we'd love to hear from you on what your favourite (theme related question)?
I just love water colouring, so that is what I have chosen to show you today.
I used one of out products for the first time EVER today and FELL IN LOVE!!
More info later.
I have added a little pictorial explanation for you to help visualise the wash.

Quirky Critters

I chose the Quirky Critters stamp set for my projects today. They are just so darn cute! Aren't they !?!
I have used the adorable Narwhal and Pheasant.

OMG Heat and Stick and Dazzling Diamonds.....Squeee WHY haven't I tried this before!

It looks amazing!

So, after washing the backgrounds, leaving to dry and cutting to size.
I dusted one back ground with embossing buddy.
I then used my versamark re-fill and placed a few drops onto my clear block. Using the same brush that I used for the wash, I wiped the versamark over the colour.
I then poured some Heat and Stick powder over the versamark, tapping off any excess.
I heated this and then poured on the Dazzling Diamonds, tapping off the excess for this also.
I re-heated everything and left to dry.

Quick Visual Aid for Water Washing

#KOCreationscards #Quirkycritters #Stampinup #Watercolourwash #Dazzlingdiamonds #Rubberstamping #Cardmaking

*When colouring the critters try and be as quick as possible when applying the ink and water mix BUT you must build your layers slowly, drying between layers.

I used the stitched shape framelits to cut out my images and backed them onto Berry Burst card stock using the larges scalloped Layering Circle.

Special Quirky

#KOCreationscards #Quirkycritters #Stampinup #Watercolourwash #Dazzlingdiamonds #Rubberstamping #Cardmaking

For this card I used the Ruffles TIEF Embossing folder after the water wash was finished and the card stock wash almost but not quite dry.
*Leaving the card stock slightly damp, helps to keep the embossing bolder for longer. It then stiffens when it dries, so that it keeps it's shape when posting and handling etc.

Quirky Hello

For the background ephemera I layered some Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon with the Decorative Ribbon Border for the 'Quirky Hello' Pheasant and the Pick A Pattern Washi Tape for the 'Special Quirky' Narwhal.

To finish I have added some black sequins from the metallic sequins range to the pheasant and Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the Narwhal.

  3. Wow! You're cards are ALWAYS amazing and these are no exception! You're technique with watercolour is wonderful and you've provided such great tips! Using the embossing folder while the background is slightly damp and your technique for adding the glitter have both gone into my memory bank! (I just wish my withdrawals from that bank were as easy as the deposits!)
