Yesterday I shared a card created using the fabulously versatile Daisy Delight bundle and using a colour palette from the Colour INKspiration challenge.

For this gorgeous card creation I started by cutting a rectangle of thick Whisper White using the Detailed Floral Thinlits edge die . 

I sponged Rich Razzleberry on my thick Whisper White card base in the area that I was going to leave a gap.

I LIGHTLY spritzed both of my die cut pieces with water and ran them through the Layered Leaves dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder ( or TIEF for short) As I wanted to deboss the leafy image I made sure I had the card the right way round.

I really like the effect of the debossed leaves behind my daisies.

Do you think that the sponged colour gives this card the illusion of 3D?? 

I punched out 3 daisy images and coloured them by using a dauber and Rich Razzleberry. I then added Night of Navy and Rich Razzleberry card stock using the Blossom Builder punch. 

Another versatile punch and a must have if you enjoy building your own flowers like I do!

I finished my flowers by adding a Faceted Gem to each centre.

The sentiment is from the centre cut out from a Lovely Words diecut and layered in Night of Navy and Smoky Slate to create a shadow effect

The leaves behind the Daisy have been cut using the leaf die from the eclectic layers thinlits in Smoky Slate card stock.

For the inside I used the ink and wipe method for the daisy stamp. Firstly inking in Night of Navy, wiping and then inking in Rich Razzleberry. Stamping once turning and without re-inking stamping again.

Today I have been working with a colour palette from Colour INKspiration

 Every fortnight they choose a different Colour challenge for everyone to have try their hand at, You can join the FB group by clicking HERE and asking to join.

Here is this fortnights colours.

 They are Smoky Slate, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Sky and Night of Navy

For my card base I used thick Whisper White card stock with layers of Night of Navy and Whisper White. 

I made a circle mask using my layering circles framelits and softly sponged Soft Sky and Night of Navy inside.

I then mixed embossing paste with a drop of Smoky Slate ink refill and using the clouds mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks. I let the clouds be outside the circle area.

When this was dry I stamped the stem of the daisy in Night of Navy.

I punched the daisy with the Daisy punch and whisper white, then daubed Rich Razzleberry over the centre and ends. I cut this in half and doubled over. Chopping out a couple of petals and arranging them in a falling manner below the main flower.

I added a large faceted gem to the centre.

To finish the front I used the Iridescent sequins from the metallics sequins.

Two of my most favourite colours are Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst.

Look at how amazing they are together like this!

The Designer Series Paper I used for my card is called Fresh Florals DSP and it comes in all 5 of the new in colours for 2017-2019.

Powder Pink, Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist

These DSP sheets are double sided with a different pattern on the reverse side.

Each swap particpant makes 10 cards using new catty items and swaps with 10 other demsontrators. This way we all get  to see some new ideas for using these gorgeous items and are able to share them with our customers too.

The awesome thing with the embossing paste is it can be coloured using your re-inkers...Or your ink pads on your silicon mat. 

Add ink use a spatula and place the ampunt of embossing paste ontop of the ink and mix.

It can be used on it's own as above or with our Stampin' Up!® stencils/masks.

Spread it where you want it and let dry.  It's that simple !

To get my card above I actually was playing with the stamp set called Background Bits (pg 220- - 144029) and the challenge colours... I wasn't happy with what I was doing, so I die cut the pieces into elements for other cards.

This was my first card (below) that I made using my die cut elements...

I thought I would share just to show that we all make things sometimes that just don't seem to come together how we want!

Basically I was not feeling overly creative when I decided to 'PLAY'. Sometimes playing gets my creative juices flowing...And it worked. As I made the card which this post is actually about lol!

I decided that this card was just too busy, plus the yellow cardstock was the wrong colour hahaha. 

I don't hate it...who am I kidding, yes I do!...It's awful hahaha.. 😱

I also used the embossing paste on this card....on the Daisy and the background. 

I made my own mask for the daisy. And for the background area, well I was just trying to cover up some of those Cajun flowers lol.
Hmmm yup.

I am working on perfecting CAS as it doesn't come naturally to me at all.

I chose to work with similar colours to Shawn's card and kept a floral theme too.

I used the Daisy Delight punch to create the daisy on my card, and coloured it using 2 NEW incolours Powder Pink ink pad  and Lemon Lime Twist card stock.

Only 8 more days until the new 21017-2018 catalogue!!!

I think this card would be perfect card for a class....Hmmm gives me an idea lol. 

Plus it's awesome for #Loveitchopit too!

Items Used

1. The new 'Colour Theory' DSP (144194) This comes in four glorious colours blended with Whisper White. Those colours are Berry Burst, Old Olive (which I have used for my card), Crushed Curry and Dapper Denim.
2. I have also used the new Daisy Delight stamp set (143669) I am LOVING this!!
3. My card base is Old Olive  card stock (106576) folded in half and cut at 10.5cm.
4. I have used another NEW PRODUCT the Mini Chevron ribbon in co-ordinating Old Olive (144196)

On a side note, I am currently playing with a new watermark (above) compared to the old one (below) I would love some feedback if you can spare some time...TIA

METHOD

For my card front using crackled DSP, I first glued thick Whisper White to the back of it. I then trimmed it to size. I used my Stitched Shapes Framleits to cut out my focal window, but making sure I had the Whisper White face up. This way the stitches are visible and help to frame my stamped images.

I then nested a layering Oval with the Stiched shape oval and cut a Old Olive frame for my focal area.

I stamped my images onto the whisper white side. 

I placed my ribbon onto the card front and I adhered it all onto the card base using dimensionals. 

I then glued the stamped images into place straight onto the card base..

Delightful Daisy - Birthday Daisy

As I promised in my previous blog post I am back to share with you a couple of cards made with the offcuts of the DSP from the CC blog hop...

I used a couple of scrappy bits of ribbon and a couple of Stitched shape frames along with a doily folded in half for a little lacey feel.

The card bases have been made using an A4 sheet of card stock folded in half and cut at 10.5 cm. The card stock colours are Old Olive and Calypso Coral.

I have added some silver metallic thread to the back of my Daisies.

For a little bling I have added some rhinestone jewels to the focal area, but I kept them tight around the focal leaving a whole area of card that is nice an clean.

For the card above the only difference other than colour, is that I used an embossing folder called Petal Burst to give a little extra interest to the background.

For the inside of each card I added a piece of whisper white card stock for writing a personal message.
