International Highlights - Stampin Blends - Birthday Blooms

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog.

Today I am taking part in the International Blog Highlights which are hosted by Kylie Bertucci

You can VOTE for your favourite project during these highlights.
Vote by clicking HERE.

OR CLICK BUTTON BELOW

The theme for this month is All Things Flowers.
I find that I tend to be drawn to floral themes a lot lately, and this is one of those times.
The colours in flowers range from muted hues to rich and vibrant. I chose rich and vibrant today for my floral card.

My card is number 13 in the Gallery. Register your VOTE by clicking on the heart in the top right
corner of the picture.

Here is my card.

You Are The Extra In My Ordinary

The sentiment is from the 'So Many Shells' stamp set

#KOCreationscards #Birthdayblooms #uplifting #Yellowrose #Flowers #Garden

By repeat stamping the rose image in the background and then layering the same image just coloured and fussy cut the results are so striking.
For interest I splattered some dark daffodil delight over the black and white stamped images.
To colour my gorgeous rose I used the NEW Stampin' Blends now available from Stampin' Up!
I love how vibrant the colours are, don't you?

The colours I used for my card are Light and Dark Daffodil Delight combined with Light Pumpkin Pie blended into the darker sections of the flower. The leaves are Light and Dark Old Olive blended.
I added my highlights just by using the Colour Lifter pen.
For my sentiment I used the water colour markers on my stamp. Colour used were Old Olive and Daffodil Delight along with Basic black.

I must say that these Stampin' Blend pens are just RIDICULOUSLY EASY to use!

Have you tried them yet? I was so pleasantly surprised when I started! The colours just glide on for both the brush tip and pen tip. No dragging on the paper, no catching, pilling and if you add a bit too much colour to your project or put some colour where you don't want it, FEAR NOT!
Just grab the Colour Lifter and rub it on the area you want it gone from!
SIMPLE!

A point of interest too is that you can purchase your set any way you like....
One at a time,
In colour pairs
OR
Just go all out and purchase the whole set in one hit!

There are choices to suit every budget!

Don't forget if you like my card to vote by clicking the image below.

Dear Friend, For You - #GDP083 - #CI07

 Welocme back crafty people...
I have actually had a full day at home today....That means I got to create whoo hoo :)

You might have seen from my previous post that it is currently school holidays in the little state I live in. For me that means my children become the focus of the household...
HAPPY KIDS HAPPY MUM lol
It also works the other way too though, hahaha!

#Birthdayblooms #Touchesoftexture #KOCreationscards #Inspiredbynature #Imbringingrakcardsback #GDP083 #CI07

Todays cards will be entered into #GDP083 and #CI07
The team from Global Design Project have given us the challenge of Sparkles/Bling while the Design Team over at Colour Inkspiration have given us a colour swatch of  *Mint Macaron, Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette and *Tip Top Taupe.. *Two of these colours are about to retire fro t he old catalogue,
BUT we have 5 new Incolours for us to play with coming out in the new catalogue along with heaps of other new products too!!

Here are the pics of this weeks challenges

I thought by putting these two challenges together I could come up with a card that was pretty and classy too.
I chose Bling from #GDP083. So, I added a touch of gold for a gorgeous and classy finish for my card design.

Here are the cards.

Dear Friend

#Birthdayblooms #Touchesoftexture #KOCreationscards #Inspiredbynature #Imbringingrakcardsback #GDP083 #CI07

I thought I would have a play with our Hexagons Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder (TIEF) to get started.
I used Tip Top Taupe and inked onto the raised side of the embossing folder..I wiped parts of it off..huffed my breath onto the ink and laid the card over the inked open folder, rubbing the card stock gently with my hand to make sure the ink and card made contact. I did this twice to give the doubled effect you can see on both cards..

For You

 What did you think??
The stamp set I used is my all time favourite 'Touches of  Texture'. The dog wood blossoms were coloured using an aqua painter with Pink Pirouette for the flowers, I coloured the centres of the flowers using Daffodol Delight and I used Mint Macaron for the leaves.
I inked the spritz stamp with Daffodil Delight to gove the impression of pollen in the air. The bees were the next logical step from that, appropriately theit legs are also thick with golden yellow pollen.

A picture of both cards side by side.

#Birthdayblooms #Touchesoftexture #KOCreationscards #Inspiredbynature #Imbringingrakcardsback #GDP083 #CI07

You can see from the side by side picture that one card has been stepped up. I added more of the flowers plus more of the wire effect, I also added metallic gold thread behind the sentiment

International Blog Highlights - All Things Thanks

Welocme back crafter's :)

Thanks for coming to my blog today! We are being highlighted internationally by Kylie Bertucci and you are able to VOTE for my project.
You can do that here - http://bit.ly/KyliesMarchHighlights

Our theme for this highlight is using the stamp set 'All Things Thanks!'
This is a Wonderful stamp set with so many gorgeous sentiments.
We wanted to highlight how versatile it really is.

I had a stack of back grounds, die cuts and other bits and bobs laying around from previous card makes and technique trials. I thouht this would be a perfect opportunity for me to show this stamps sets versatility.

I quite often make 2 full A4 sheets of backgrounds, but may only get time to make 2 or 3 cards including the insides....I also have a little bag filled with excess diecuts and offcuts.

Here is a quick shot of what I had to work with from my stash!

#Wastenotwantnot #Allthingsthanks #Usingscraps

I only ended up with a third of the little bits left and that was because, once again I ran out of time.... School pick up became more important!

I will now share the cards I made using the 'All Things Thanks' stamp set to complete these cards....

There is just one shot of each card.

'For You' A Colour Challenge from #GDP057

FOR YOU

Welcome to my blog once again.
Today I have created a card using the Global Design Teams colour challenge (below)

Rich Razzleberry - Mint Macaron - Blushing Bride

I took a couple of days to think about these colours...they reminded me of a more Vintage /Victorian era.
So I went to my cave and had a play this afternoon and came up with this gorgeous design.

'FOR YOU'

#Birthdayblooms #KOCreationscards #Handmadecards #Oldworld #Yearsgoneby #Stampinup #Watercolouring

I am not sure if it is the colours, the roses or even the ribbon!?! But when I finally put them all together this card certainly has an old world feel to it.
What do you think?

'INSIDE VIEW'

#Birthdayblooms #KOCreationscards #Handmadecards #Oldworld #Yearsgoneby #Stampinup #Watercolouring

This card is very basic, but I do love the effect.
I started with a Rich Razzleberry card base cut at 10.5 c 15 cm. I then cut to fit the Rich Razzleberry DSP from the Petals and Paisleys DSP which has lovely Mint Macaron design on the reverse side and another Rich Razzleberry layer, all to go under the water colour paper.

I stamped my images using the Roses from the Birthday Blooms stamp set. First in Blushing Bride and then in Mint Macaron, wiping the ink of with a baby wipe where I didn't require either colour.
I then proceeded to water colour the stamped image with my inks and Aqua Painters.
I used the Rich Razzleberry ribbon from the Trio pack that co-ordinates with the Petals and Paisley DSP and layered that with a strip of the Mint Macaron DSP.
I added a bow to finish it all off.
The sentiment is from the Birthday Blooms stamp set

I hope you have enjoyed my card today.

Global Design Project #032

Global Design Project #032

Case the Designer

Well I thoroughly enjoyed my first ever blog hop so much I thought I would try my hand at a Global Design Project (GDP) so I popped on over to the site to see what they were planning for this weeks project and found they were casing Krista Frattin

WOW I fell in love with this ladies style!!
I had a peek at all the other designers take on this beautiful card and thought You can do this just
GO FOR IT!
So I did :)

Here is my card

'For You'

#GDP032 #Birthdayblooms #Timelesstextures #KOCreationscards

How I made 'FOR YOU' :
  • I cut my card front to 11.5cm x 16.5cm and made each layer 2 millimeters larger. Te card base is cut at 12cm x 17cm.
  • I sponged Blushing bride ink using the Stampin' sponge onto Whisper white, firstly spritzing the paper with water so the ink blended nicely.
  • I then use Whisper White ink with the Timeless textures wood grain stamp then embossed over the top.
  • I stamped the large rose from Birthday Blooms and proceeded to colour & blend. I then stamped again using my versa mark embossing ink and embossed. This makes the fussy cutting much easier and helps the item not to tear.
  • I stamped the sentiment using Versa mark ink and embossed with silver embossing powder.
  • I put dimensionals behind the leaves and small flowers but NOT behind the largest centre flower.
  • I used my elegant butterfly punch to punch out my butterflies in silver foil & the Birthday Bouquet pink stripe sheet. I also punched out some confetti hearts too :)
  • I layered Blushing Bride and silver foil behind the Whisper White card front & used Whisper White cardstock again at the base.
I hope you enjoyed my creating efforts today & thank you so much for stopping by.

Gift Box of Cards

Yesterday I was lucky enough to view some very talented ladies card creations in what's called a blog hop with the creative master Dawn Griffiths, organised by Kylie Bertucci ! My first ever look at a blog hop and OH WOW!
I was so inspired I decided to make this gorgeous set of 5 gift box cards, CASEing one of Dawn Griffith's cards in the process and building on Juan Ambiba's 'Box on Note Cards'.
Each of these cards are C6 size 12cm x 17cm with slightly larger envelopes to accommodate the embellishments.
I calculated the measurements for the Envelope Box  by measuring the cards envelope size then realized that I had to use the last envelope size available on the board and add a second score line. I made the first score as per instruction on the board the added another score line 1 inch in from the first. I did this all the way around the cut 111/2 inch square.

#confettihearts #calypsocoral #envelopepunchboard

I used for this set the following items:

 Cardstock -Calypso Coral 12 x 12  - 131189
