I thought that I would do a spot of water colouring this time round. I am super happy with how it looks in these colours.

Although I did notice that Gray Granite ink, stamps and water colours differently to the card stock. I even double checked to make sure that the card stock was the right one! Thats how different it looks, but yes it Gray Granite card stock and Gray Granite ink.. I do like the colour differrence though as it adds trhat little extra dimension to my flowers.

I love the clean white spaces of this card. It's bright and vibrant yet has subtlety too.
The matching thinlits in the 'Serene Garden' bundle have an embossing piece that doesn't cut like the other dies, but embossed. It is so pretty and very detailed. This embossing piece is what I used to create the subtle background with.

The flowers and cute butterfly were painted with 'Aqua Painters', 'Melon Mambo' and 'So Saffron' ink pads. The leaves were cut from 'Garden Green' card stock and the lattice was cut using the 'Petals and More' thinlit dies.

Items Used

• Oh So Eclectic stamp set plus the Eclectic Layers thinlits
• Petal Palette stamp set (sentiment)
• Hardwood background stamp
• Thick Whisper White, Basic Gray, Pool Party and A4 Vellum card stock
• Pool Party, Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Stazon Black Ink Pad
• Metallic Enamel Shapes (retiring)
• Whisper White 1/8 Sheer Ribbon
• Tailored Tag Punch
• Big Shot

Basic Instructions

• Place a piece of A4 thick Basic Gray into the Stampin' Trimmer portrait orientation, Score at 10.5cm cm (4 1/8") . Turn to landscape orientation and cut at 14.9 cm (5 13/16") Fold on score line and burnish. This will give you 2 card bases with a top fold for portrait orientation. 
• Cut 1 piece of  the Pool Party cardstock at 14.9 cm (5 13/16") x 8.5cm (3 3/8) for card front layer
• Cut 1 piece of Thick Whisper White at 14.9cm (5 13/16") x 8.0cm (3 1/8")  for card front.
• Using second largest (normal) circle from Layering Circle Framelits create a mask using printer paper. Place over card front, so circle is central but slightly high of centre.
• Ink Hardwood Background image with Basic Gray and stamp over circle mask.
• Lift stamp and mask. Colour circular hardwood image quickly, using Pool Party ink pad and a very wet Aqua Painter.
• Put aside to dry.
• Stamp the flower in Stazon, colour using Aqua Painter and Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral. Die cut with matching die.
• Die cut leaves in Vellum and Basic Gray, cut in half and place behind flower.
• Punch three tags, one in Vellum, one Basic Gray and the other in Pool Party. 
• Using the heart shape embossing die from Eclectic Layers, emboss the vellum layer. Layer tags as pictured with Pool Party at the bottom.
• The Hardwood Circle should be dry by now, Stamp sentiment (from Petal Palette stamp set) in Stazon.
• Glue card front layer to Pool Party Layer. Glue this into position to card base.
• Using the Diamond shapes in the Eclectic Layers thinlits set cut a Pool Party Diamond. Layer and place where desired.
• Add embellishments and tie ribbon around the stem of the leaves.

Do you see why I am thinking old world charm?

I find inspiration in all sorts of places, these colours reminded me of some very old paper that I used to have many years ago. I had a little go at recreating the old world feel of that paper in my project.

Here is my creation using this gorgeous colour palette

For my project I used a combination of Stampin' Up! ink pads and Stampin' Write Markers along with Aqua Painters.

Items Used

• Card Stock : A4 Crumb Cake, A4 Thick Very Vanilla and 14.5cm x 10cm Chocolate Chip and scrap piece for sentiment.
• Bundles: Petal Palette Clear-Mount 145974
• Ink Pads: Blushing Bride, Garden Green and Chocolate Chip
• Pearl Basic Jewels
• Stampin' Blends: Dark Crumb Cake and Bronze.
• Aqua Painter.
• Adhesives: Foam Adhesive Strips, Multi Purpose Liquid Glue (tombow)

Basic Instructions

1. Place A4 Crumb Cake on Stampin' Trimmer in a landscape orientation and score at 14.9cm. Turn and cut at 10.5cm . Fold both pieces on score line and burnish. You will now have two card bases 14.9cm x 10.5cm. Keep one aside for front focal die cut.
2. Cut 1 piece of Chocolate Chip card stock at 14.5 x 10 cm. Cut two more pieces, 1 at 2.3cm x 14.2cm and another at 5.1cm x 14.2cm
3. Cut 1 piece of Very Vanilla card stock at 14.1 cm x 9.6 cm. Cut two more pieces, 1 at 2.1cm x 14.2 cm and another at 4.9cm x 14.2cm. Have another 10cm x 10cm piece on hand ready for stamping the extra rose image.
4. Layer the two strips of Very Vanilla onto the Chocolate Chip leaving the edge showing along one full length.
5. Colour rose image stamps with Blushing Bride ink pad and then colour the leaves with the Stampin' Write marker Garden Green. Huff on stamp and then stamp images left of the centre line on Very Vanilla layer. Repeat this step for the extra rose image on the spare 10cm x 10ccm Very Vanilla. Die cut with thinlits and bigshot.
6. Colour images with matching inks and Aqua Painters. Note I also coloured the background area with a light cover of Chocolate Chip.
7. Adhere the stamped Very Vanilla layer to the Chocolate Chip layer. Adhere the two strips of layered Choc Chip and Very Vanilla to the front of the stamped image with foam strips.
8. Die cut the lattice from the put aside piece of Crumb Cake.
9. Stamp the sentiment in Versamark onto scrap piece of Choc Chip, dust with White embossing powder. Heat to melt. Die cut with label thinlit in bundle.
10. Layer rose with lattice and sentiment over stamped images.
11. Colour pearls with Stampin' Blends Dark Crumb Cake and Bronze and adhere into desired position.

I am sooo in love with how this card looks finished. Having the paper effect behind the raised panels and then using the same floral image as a focal bought it all alive.

I have added a splatter style background and used the Petal Palette bundle to create layers to the focal area.

I have added a heart accent from the Hearts and Stars elements pack that has been embossed in silver.

For my card projects today I have chosen to use the Heartfelt Blooms stamp that you can earn FREE during SALE-A-BRATION *more info further down.

I chose a monochrome colour scheme of black, grey,white with silver to finish for my first card.

I used a few little bits'n'bobs from previous makes to finish this card. 

The vellum heart frame, the sequin trim and the black leaves are all from previous cards.

I have overlaid a sheet of vellum over the DSP in the background. This was done to soften the look of the black polka dots.

For this card I decided that a splash of colour was needed. I chose to colour one flower image in Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie.

I also went with a mixed metals approach adding metallic sequins to the card front and metallic gold thread behind the focal layers.

This card was created using bits'n'bobs that I had been playing with trying some of my new product out and getting a feel for them.

The vellum overlay on this card has only been stuck firmly down in the centre behind the floral image. This was done to give a loser feel to the overall structure of the card.

*Kim's tip

Have you ever wondered how to apply your vellum so it stays flat and have the glued area barely noticed?
Then I have your solution!
Apply Fast Fuse along the edges of the vellum.
NOTE: When applying always make sure that you have no balled up bits of the glue and that it doesn't double on itself - Those two things will make it visible.

I loved it so much I made another, but used a retired embossing folder and changed up the image within the small heart.... Just for a small difference.
