Ink It! Stamp It! - Technique

Hello everyone 😊

Welcome to another Ink It Stamp It blog hop. You are currently here with me Kim Oliver- KOCreations Cards. I have a list of the other talented blog hop participants closer to the end of this post.

Today we are focusing our energies on techniques.

Techniques are what all paper crafters use to creat their gorgeous projects with.
My technique today is repeat stamping.
Repeat stamping can be as simple as stamping an image in the same colour as your card stock to give a textured look or as complex as creating your own Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I have chosen to create my own DSP to aid my creating of a card and gift box set. I have a video further down on this post of the basic box directions from Pootles (Sam) This is where I got the directions from.

Wishing You A Lovely Day

The next 3 photo's show the steps I used to create my own DSP for the milk carton lid.

The stamp set I used is called Lovely Wishes and is a two step stamp set.
This stamp set is retiring very soon! You can purchase your set by clicking

HERE

The colour I used are Basic Black (retiring), Berry Burst and Garden Green

Step 1

Stamp the images in your desired pattern.
If you aren't confident doing this the Stamparatus is a wonderful tool to aid positioning of your stamps and paper.
For me I just stamped my first image one way, turned my stamp around and stamped it as close to the first image as possible then repeated.

Step 2

This step is part two of the two step stamp being put into use.
Using Garden green I stamped the colours in the leaves.
I deliberately made sure that the colour could be seen by stamping twice, once int he image and again periodically outside the image.

Step 3

For the last and final step (which is stall part 2 of the two step stamp set) I added the Berry Burst colour to the flower heads.

Ink It! Stamp It! blog hop - 2017 - 2018 Annual Catalogue

No automatic alt text available.

Welcome to our Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop. This month we will be sharing projects inspired by our favourites from the Annual Catalogue.
I would love to know what your favourite item from the new catalogue is.
You are here with me Kim Oliver -Australia. I have a list of the other particpating Design Team members closer to the end of this post to help guide you through the hop..

My project today was inspired by page 163 of the annual catalogue. It is fast becoming a favourite for me. Although it was hard to pick just one..So I didn't lol
I would love to know what your favourite item is from the new catalogue!?!.

Floral Statements

I simply adore this set

The reason I think I like this set so much is it's got so much versatility. You don't have to just stamp it and add a ribbon. Although this is so very effective, as the catalogue shows.

I also used the 'Lovely Words' thinlits set from page 157 of the annual catalogue. I love that thinlits set so much! You can do almost anything with it! Cards, Memory Making, Gift Tags you name it!

Here is my project

Hello Friend

#KOCreationscards #Floralstatements #Lovelywordsthinlits #Cardmaking #Stampinup #Hellofriend #Inspiredbynature #inkitstampit

I have used a version of the spotlight technique for my card.

I made this card for two reasons.
  1. Was for this Design Team Ink It! Stamp It! Blog Hop. I thought it was very appropriate as LOADS of ink has been used here lol
  2. Was for a sample card for my teams benefit.
Each fornight I set them a challenge and this weeks challenge was a sketch. Depending on the amount of entries each fornight I choose 5 I think are awesome and then I create a poll and let them decide who the winner is. The winner of that challenge gets to choose the next challenge theme plus I send them a sample pack of current DSP 😊

But enough about my team hahaha

I am sure you would like to know more about how I made my card.

A quick run down on how I created this card.

For this card my card base is thick Whisper White layered with Basic Black.
I stamped my image onto a piece of thick Whisper White then water coloured using Tempting Turquoise for the flowers and Lemon Lime Twist for the leaves.
The colouring was done in 3 stages, first I applied a layer to the shadows and then washed a small amoint of colour over the top.
I then waited for it to dry and re-applied the colour in the same manner as the first layer.
When the second layer was dry I used my Stampin' Write markers to add more depth to the shadow area and highlighted the lighter areas using the White craft refill. I placed a small drip of white onto a clear block and then picked it up and applied using a damp aqua painter.
*When trying this technique I find it handy to have a tissue on hand to help keep the aqua painter damp but not wet!
When all of the colouring were dry, I used two layering circle framelits. The smallest I cut from the stamped image. The largest I cut form the basic black layer. I glued the together.
You can see the word 'FRIEND' has been placed over the top. For this I used the 'Lovely Words' thinlits set and cut 'Friends' from it's original oval shape.
I cut the 'FRIEND' word 3 times in Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise and Silver. I glued these all together slightly off setting them so as to see a slight egde of each colour. I cut 3 small banners from matching pieces from the friends word left overs and popped that under the layered circle.
Using a black pen I drew a rough rectangle around the word 'HELLO' and then added little corner accents.
Using the foam adhesive strips, I placed the circle back in position over the word 'HELLO'.

I added 6 small rhinestones to finish.

Here is a list of all of the other Design Team members . Just click the name after mine to be take to another fabulous project.

Ink It! Stamp it! Design Team Blog Hop - Congrats

No automatic alt text available.

Welcome to our very first first Ink It! Stamp It! Blog Hop. How exciting 😊
This month we will be sharing projects inspired by the theme 'Congrats' using NEW catalogue products.

My project today has been created with a wedding in mind.

I have used the 'Delightful Daisy' Suite and a new in colour Tranquil Tide.

The design I used is perfect for #Loveitchopit!
Something I am practising more of these days.
I have a huge stash of DSP that I am slowly chopping and munching through!

Here is my project

Tranquil Daisy

#Delightfuldaisysuite #Weddings #Loveitchopit #KOCreationscards #Rubberstamping #Stampinup #Daisydelight #Love #Colorfulseasons #inkitstampit

I just adore this gorgeous floral suite. It is perfect for almost any occasion.
This gorgeous double sided DSP has matching stamp set that also has available a daisy punch!
You can create your own style of daisies using this awesome punch.
Me I love gerbera daisies 😍

The Delightful Daisy suite goes perfectly with the new faceted gems that Stampin' Up! are now carrying in the new catalogue. They are available in silver (pictured) and gold. There is also a sweet double sided double stitched ribbon in the Delightful Daffodil colour that you can use with this stunning suite.
You can see a small piece of that ribbon looped behind my daisy along with some black metallic thread....

Angled and Inside view

#Delightfuldaisysuite #Weddings #Loveitchopit #KOCreationscards #Rubberstamping #Stampinup #Daisydelight #Love #Colorfulseasons

For the sentiment and the inside of my card I used the 'Colourful Seasons' stamp set and the co-ordinateing thinlit dies called 'Seasonal Layers'.
The sentiment has been stamped in Tranquil Tide ink onto a square made using the Stitched Shape framelits and thick Whisper White. This has been backed with a tranquil tide square cut using a scalloped layering squares Framelits. These framelits co-ordinate perfectly with each other.
The small tag has been stamped using the Teeny Tiny Sentiments.
I double stamped this in Delightful Daisy and Tranquil Tide.

Thank you for stopping by my blog during this wonderful hop.
I do hope you found it inspiring.
Please keep hopping through the blogs to see more wonderful projects using our new products.
