Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Stampin' Blends - Just Add Colour

No automatic alt text available.

Hello everyone 😊
Did you miss me??
Some of you may have noticed that I took a wee break before the Christmas Crazy period began!
Well I am back now and getting my creative on.

Today for the Stampin Sunday Blog Hop we are showcasing the NEW Stampin' Blends.
You are currently visiting Kim Oliver of Australia and you can find a list of all other talented creators closer to the end of this post.

Who has tried the Stampin Blends already?
What was your impressions?
Who has them on their wish list? My Mum does after playing with my set!

Well, I couldn't wait to get my hands on them and purchased them as soon as I could.
From the first pen stroke, I fell in LOVE!!
They glide on so smoothly, no catching and are SUPER EASY to use.
PLUS the colours are just so VIBRANT!

Pictured below are my two cards created using the Stampin' Blends along with the 'Just Add Colour' DSP which seemed pretty obvious to me hehe.
I also used 'Count My Blessings'  plus 'Grown with Love' stamp sets with the stitched shapes and layering ovals to accentuate my focal area and sentiments.

For the first card below I have used the 'Count My Blessing' stamp set to create the leafy repeat stamped background. I fussy cut the watering can and flowers from the DSP sheet after colouring.

All Things Grow With Love

I simply adore that sentiment, it can be used to encourage anybody that needs a little lift.

I was certainly enamoured with the watering cans and flowers on that particular DSP sheet, so much so I had to create another card.

I admit I was a bit rusty with my colouring with the card above, see the improvement with my colouring below?
As with all techniques the more you practise the better you get 😉

Amazing You

Looking at the card above you can see that the colours don't actually bleed into each other when colouring next to another completely different colour! That is even though they are super juicy pens and glide on so smoothly yet, at the same time you can blend similar colour families to perfection!

* Kim's Tips

  • If you do make a mistake and colour outside of the lines or in a section you didn't want to, just grab the colour lifter and rub it over the area you want removed! The Colour Lifter is also a perfect way to add texture and highlights to your project.
  • The Just Add Colour DSP is perfect for the Stampin' Blends. It is a thicker grade paper. The Stampin' Blends should only ever be used on thick card stocks or papers like the above mentioned DSP and our Thick Whisper White card stock.
  • Also use a scratch piece of paper under your work as the colours will eventually bleed through the paper to the underside, especially if colouring repeatedly in the same section.
To continue moving through our hop just click the name after mine on the list below.

BLUE - Water Colour Wings using Water Colours

#KOCreationscards #Watercolourwings #Watercolourpainting #Cardmaking #Papercrafting #Stampinup #Butterflies #Blue

Welcome back everyone.
I took a little break before the Christmas rush period to spend some time with my family...We don't get a lot of time over the Christmas due to work commitments unfortunately.
My holiday was inspirational though as visiting the Melbourne Zoo and the Butterfly House was my inspiration for my card project today.

I decided I would jump straight back into creating by playing with water colours! It's one of my most favourite ways to add colour to a background.
I hadn't pulled out the gorgeous Water Colour wings stamp set for a while either so, I put the two together and came up with this striking little number!
I am entering this card into the Crazy Crafters Weekly Team Highlights.
