Enjoy The Little Things In Life Design Team - Halloween

Welcome back crafty people 😊 I am so happy you could join me today.
The Video Blog Hop Design Team are a group of demonstrators from all over the world.
We all get together on the last Wednesday of each month to share with you some wonderful projects and tutorial videos. We hope to inspire you with new ideas and hopefully give you some helpful tips along the way.
Today's theme is - Halloween

You are currently here with me Kim Oliver of Australia. You will find a list for the names of the other DT members.

Have you ever created something and then been inspired by what you created?
Well that was me just recently 😉

I have been creating some Halloween inspired cards using the Creep it Real stamp set and the Spooky Nights DSP.
Those two card creations eventually led to these little projects pictured below.

BOO

Monster Treat Bags
#KOCreationscards #Creepitreal #Halloween #DIY #Treatbags #Partytreats #Kidsparties #Stampinup #Papercraft

I have two children that are still at the 'trick or treat' age (8 and 7) and both love getting dressed up and knocking on doors while yelling Trick Or Treat! They of course LOVE eating all the lollies too 😆

Each year a few of the parents all walk around as a large group with our little Ghosts, Ghouls, Witches and Monsters (all aged under 10) mainly so they don't harass any one who isn't participating in the Halloween evening. Halloween just isn't a huge deal here in Australia.

So, this year I decided that I would create a treat bag to hand out from our little family to each of the little ghouls etc at the end of our evening excursion.
I really think they will get a kick out of them!

You can see how I made these Little treat bags below.

What did you think?
Don't these fangs look awesome with the lollies poking through!!

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Sarah Fleming

Image may contain: text

Welcome back everyone 😊
Today I am joining the Crazy Crafters for a blog hop with our special guest Sarah Fleming
Here is a little picture of her 😉

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, selfie, closeup and outdoor

Sarah's blog is called Prepare To Dye PaPercrafts

All of us Crazy Crafters have been busy creating something CASEd from Sarah's work. You are currently her with me Kim Oliver and I will have a complete list of all hop participants towards the end of this post

Here is the card that I chose to CASE of Sarah's

The elements that I chose to use from Sarah's card are as follows
  • Stitched shape
  • Paper ribbon/banner
  • Water colour background and the colour (sort of)

Here is my card

Have A Haunted Halloween

#KOCreationscards #Halloween #Cardmaking #Rubberstamping #DIY #Witches #Spookybights #Spookycat #Stampinup

Being that Halloween is drawing nearer I decided to create a creepy crawly and slightly SpOoKy card for you all 😱

I used two stamp sets to create this card plus some pieces from the Spooky Night DSP.
I due cut the tree and moon using the stitched shapes framelits and then stamped some images of bats from the Graveyard Gate stamp set.
The frame behind the stitched square is the off cut that has just been reversed. When all was adhered in place I used a black artline pen to continue the tree slightly off the page. I stamped the image of the crow on top of the top most branch.
The mouse and witches hat images are from the Spooky Cat stamp set along with the sentiment.

Open View

#KOCreationscards #Halloween #Cardmaking #Rubberstamping #DIY #Witches #Spookybights #Spookycat #Stampinup

For the inside I just stamped the bubbling potions and cauldron below a strip of the Spooky Nights DSP.
That was all that was needed to carry the theme from the front into the inside of my card.

Ink It! Stamp It! - Holiday Catalogue

No automatic alt text available.

Welcome back everyone 😊
And welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop.
This month we will be sharing projects inspired by our projects created using products from the 2017 Holiday Catalogue.
The full line up below will guide through all the projects and we'd love to hear from you on what your favourite item is from the new catalogue.

I chose to use 2 stamp set called 'Snowflake Sentiments' and the 'Merry Little Labels' for my card today along with a couple of techniques to create my card with.
One technique is water colour washing, this was combined with another technique, called resist emboss. I also used a masking technique to stamp the silhouette images at the bottom of the card.

Seasons Greetings

#KOCreationscards #Snowflakescenes #DIY #Cardmaking #Rubberstamping #Resistemboss #Watercolour #Watercolor #Stampinup

Basic Instructions.
To start my scene, I taped up around the edge piece of a piece of water colour paper.
I then wet the paper with a large brush.
I applied my colours, with the card stock wet the colour travels and blends without leaving any harsh lines.
I heat dried the first  layer of colours.
Once done, I embossed the snowflakes in white embossing powder and repeated the water colour wash over the top to strengthen the colours, making them more vibrant.
I left this to dry naturally.

When this was completely dry, I stamped my images by repeat stamping a stamp fro the 'Merry Little Labels' set.
I then used my black Stampin' Write marker to fill in some areas with larger silhouettes of pine tree shapes.

I used my versamark re-fill and a small brush to apply versamark to the tree line and some ground area, dusting this with white embossing powder and then heating until smooth.
This gave the effect of snow coverage on the trees.
When the scene was complete I trimmed it down to size and backed it onto basic black card stock.

The sentiment has also been embossed using the white embossing powder then trimmed to a banner and glued in place.

Well, what do you think?

Me I really like the effect, and that sweet little deer silhouette just makes it 😊

Thank you so much for joining us today. We hope you'll join us again next month to see our hop all about techniques

Stampin Dreams Blog Hop - Something Different

Welcome back everyone 😊
And also welcome to the monthly Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop.
This month's theme is Something Different, for me that would be someting other than a card lol.

You are currently visiting with me Kim Oliver from Australia and I have a full list of particpants closer to the end of my blog.
I do hope you enjoy my project that was created for your viewing pleasure today.

Without further ado, here is my Something Different 😊

I created my items below using brand new products from the current Holiday Catalogue.

Swirly Snowflakes Christmas Tags

#KOCreationscards #Christmastime #Christmastags #Gifttags #DIY #Snowflakes #Swirlysnowflakes #Stampinup #Diecutting

I used Real Red and Very Vanilla card stock to create these tags with along with the mini tinsel trim combo pack. The tinsel is available in Silver and Real Red as you can see above anda adds that extra bit of sparkle that we all love at Christmas time.

Very Vanilla Tags

#KOCreationscards #Christmastime #Christmastags #Gifttags #DIY #Snowflakes #Swirlysnowflakes #Stampinup #Diecutting

To create the snowflakes I used the NEW Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits dies and die cut the flakes from the tags and swapped the coulors around. So, the red cut outs were added to the vanilla tags while the tags with the cutouts were backed with the contrasting colour.

Real Red Tags

#KOCreationscards #Christmastime #Christmastags #Gifttags #DIY #Snowflakes #Swirlysnowflakes #Stampinup #Diecutting

I seriously love this bundle! The edgelit in this die set is to die for (hahahaha) and already I have some (hopefully) gorgeous ideas going around in my crafty little brain 😆

These tags are super simple to create and the matching stamp set for these dies that is available as a bundle from the Holiday catalogue has the 'To: and From:' stamps for the back of my tags too!
What more could you ask for!

I hope the projects you've seen here on my blog today have inspired you and brightened your day.
Please see the list below and hop through all of the people on the list to see all our projects. You don't want to miss any!

#CI17 - Creep it Real!

Welcome back everyone 😊

I had a spare moment today, so I thought I would play with a colour challenge from
Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist, Tempting Turquoise and Flirty Flamingo.
I entered this card into the #CI17 colour challenge 😁
Aren't they just fun colours!

I decide to pair these colours with the Creep it Real stamp set available from the Holiday Catalogue
(last page)

Creep It Real

#KOCreationscards #Halloween #Creepitreal #DIY #Cardmaking #Stampinup #Monsters #Kidscards

Basic Instructions

My background was created by repeat stamping the sentiment 'Creep It Real' in Lemon Lime Twist.
I layered this upon Flirty Flamingo and basic black card stock.
I then addded these layers to my card base of Lemon Lime Twist.
I stamped the teeth image in memento tuxedo black then coloured with aqua painters and ink pads.
I made sure that the mouth was deliberatley grimy looking and added black blemishes to the lips too, all in the name of halloween lol.
When all done I applied versamark with a brush to the lips and teeth only and added clear embossing powder, heating until the powder had melted and was smooth. This gave the illusion of depth.
I also went around the letters with my black stampin write marker to add depth to the lettering.
I then fussy cut this out..
The lollies were stamped and then fussy cut, just to add a little more interest to the frontof my card.

Inside View

#KOCreationscards #Halloween #Creepitreal #DIY #Cardmaking #Stampinup #Monsters #Kidscards

For the inside I stamped the sentiment and the lollies in the centre of the card.
Using my Stampin' Write markers I rubbed the colours around the edge of the stamp, huffed and a placed this over the sentiment.
Using a pencil I coloured lightly the tongue.
I decided that this mouth and teeth set would be free of grime and blemishes, as if the teeth and mouth had been cleaned hahaha.

Kylies International Highlights - Sympathy

Image may contain: text

Welcome back everyone 😊

Today I am taking part in Kylie Bertucci's International Highlights!
This is where we all create a project using a selected theme and you all get to vote for who you like the best!
The theme for this months highlights is Sympathy.

No-one likes to create these styles of cards, but they are unfortunately a necessary part of life.
And we all want the people in out lives to know that we are there for them in there time of need, that's why these types of cards are so important.
For me an elegant and not overly wordy style is my go to for Sympathy cards.

If you like my card (pictured below) you can vote for it here, my card number is 15 in the gallery.

Here is my card created for the highlights.

You've Got This
Angled View

#KOCreationscards #Sympathy #Elegant #DIY #Peonyrose #Cardmaking #Rubberstamping #Stampinup

The two stamp sets I used for this card are 'You've Got This' and 'Rose Wonder'
for the inside sentiment which is the last picture below.

I think this clean and simple design is so very elegant and speaks volumes while not having any sentiment placed on the front at all.

Full Frontal View

#KOCreationscards #Sympathy #Elegant #DIY #Peonyrose #Cardmaking #Rubberstamping #Stampinup

For my card base and front I used thick Whisper White card stock.
A piece of Gold Foil sheet has been added for an elegant edge around the card front.
The Peony Rose has been embossed in gold to match the foil layer.

I did think about adding some gold splatter in the back ground, but in the end
I decide that the flower was all this card really needed.

Inside View

#KOCreationscards #Sympathy #Elegant #DIY #Peonyrose #Cardmaking #Rubberstamping #Stampinup

Upon opening the card you can see that the words stamped inside say it all 💓

Adding the gold foil layer really helps in keeping that elegant feel from the front through to the inside.

I hope you have enjoyed my simple card today.

Please vote for my card, it is number 15 in the gallery 😊

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Painted Harvest bundle

Welcome to  the Stamping Sunday blog hop, on the first Sunday of every month we all get together and showcase an item from the current catalogues. It could be a stamp set, a bundle or a whole suite

Today we are using the versatile Painted Harvest suite.
It is my faveourite set of the new catalogue atm!
Do you have a faveourite yet?

This set is currently available in a bundle. I love bundles, they are just so awesome, because you get to save 10% percent of the purchase price when you buy these items as a bundle!
Who doesn't love to save!

You are currently here with me Kim Oliver, I will have a full list of participants closer to the end of this post  for you to keep finding inspiartion from.

here is my project for today.

THANK YOU GIFT SET

I have chosen to create a Thank you gift set, comprising of a card and note pad.
I have never made or even thought of making a notepad cover until Paula Dobson showed me how easy it was at her Paper Caper in New Zealand. Such a simple thing and so effective too!

Using the painted Harvest bundle I stamped the flowers randomly in Dapper Denim on a piece of thick whisper white card stock to create a background.
This was trimmed and then covered in vellum.
I have a great tip for using vellum!
My card layers are Thick whisper white, Basic Gray and Whisper White for the front images then a vellum *overlay..

I used the Stitched Shapes framelits and the layering ovals to create the area  for the sentiment.
I fussy cut a stamped image and placed this in the bottom right corner of the card partially over the the oval also.

*My Tip

If you are reasonably proficient at using Fast Fuse or even Snail Adhesive use a small section/strip on the fast fuse in the corners of the vellum to attach it to the card stock below. It is barely visible!
Make sure that you have no balls of adhesive at the tip of your applicator, as these will be visible.

Open and Angled View

#KOCreationscards #Paintedharvest #Thankyou #Cardmaking #Stampinup #Vellumoverlay

For the note pad itself I created a cover to go over the front, top and a small section of the back.
To do this I measured the size of the note pad and went from there.
I used a piece of thick Whisper White, Dapper Denim and a scrap piece of Basic Gray card stock to create my cover.
I stamped the images on the cover using the same inks as my card. For the note pad itself I only stamped the flower and only on every second sheet. This leaves a clean sheet of note paper for other purposes 😊

This is going to be a gift for a friend who has helped me out alot over the last few months and I want them to know that I appreciate them and all they do.

The more I play with this set the more I fall in love with it! But I do adore flowers 😍

  • Splatter Soft Sky and Dapper Denim ink over bottom right corner of the whisper white card stock.
  • Stamp the 2 step flower images in Dapper Denim with the centre images stamped in Sahara Sand and Chocolate Chip.
  • Fussy cut your flower image and set aside for a moment.
  • Stamp the 2 step leaf images in Lemon Lime Twist.
  • Adhere the the flower over the splatter and leaf images with dimensionals.

  • Adhere this to the Lemon Lime Twist striped DSP using Tear and Tape.

*This really is a very simple card to create with basic techniques of 2 step stamping, fussy cutting and masking for the small sentiment.
This would be perfect for a beginners or even intermediate class. You could even incorporate the stepping up technique to show how to dress up or down designs..

I know my groups are certainly looking forward to playing with this set.
