Colour INKspiration Crew CI36 ~ Healing Hugs

Hello and welcome to this fortnights Colour INKspiration challenge #CI36  😊

You are with Kim Oliver - KOCreations Cards.

Our guest designer this quarter is Anne Matasci of The Maui Stamper, Congrats Anne on winning #CI34 love your designs.
There is a NEXT button a little further down to take you to Annes blog and keep you moving through this wonderful and inspiring hop.

Here is this quarters Challenge Palette.

These are just gorgeous wintery colours, aren't they? It's Winter here where I live (Tasmania) and is very cold atm. Still, it hasn't snowed here yet...I am still waiting for that this year lol

Being that Winter is the time for colds and flues I decided on a 'Get Well Soon' style card.

Healing Hugs

#KOCreationsCards #HealingHugs #BotanicalTagsThinlitsDies #Wintertimeblues #Getwellsoon #Roses #Inspiredbynature #StampinUp30

I mixed the 'Healing Hugs' stamp set with the stunning 'Botanical Tags Thinlits Dies' and the 'Stitched Labels Framelits Dies'.
Mixing sets is something I enjoy doing quite alot and Stampin' Up!® products are perfect for that as they all blend together seamlessly

I struggled a bit with my card for this quarter as I wasn't overly happy with how it was looking. I had to walk away and take a break from it then have another look at it the next day.
I really fell in love with it then, the little garden arch behind the rose made me think of a chilly winters day, sitting near a window all rugged up with a fire crackling and a steaming cup of cocoa

Closed View

#KOCreationsCards #HealingHugs #BotanicalTagsThinlitsDies #Wintertimeblues #Getwellsoon #Roses #Inspiredbynature #StampinUp30
The rose has been stamped in 'Crushed Curry' and the leaves in 'Soft Suede'. The background DSP is a piece from 'Nature's Poem'  (Nature's Poem Suite) and is also 'Soft Suede'. The cross stitching behind the rose is from the 'Healing Hugs' stamp set has been heat embossed in silver. I carried the stitching through with a little faux straight stitching from the 'Stitched Labels Framelit Dies'. The sentiment has also been heat embossed but in white on 'Basic Gray' card stock. The 'Basic Gray' garden arch behind the rose is carried through with a layer behind the card front and a strip between the DSP and 'Very Vanilla' layers. I have added 'Silver Metallic Thread' under the rose along with 'Rhinestones' to add a touch of bling.

Up next we have Anne Matasci sharing her beautiful inspiration for this fabulous colour scheme.

Ink It Stamp It Blog Hop - New Catalogue Products

Hello everyone and welcome 😊

I am hopping today with the Ink It Stamp It crew.
You are currently here with Kim Oliver (KOCreations Cards). I havae a full list of hop participants further down this post.
Today the Ink ItStamp It crew are all sharing something new from the catalogue with you.

I have chosen to share with you the Serene Garden Bundle.
This gorgeous bundle can be found on page 166 of the 2018/2019 Annual Catalogue.

Serene Congratulations

#KOCreationsCards #HandMadeCards #StampinUp30 #CardMaking #Congratulations #Wedding #Engagement #SereneGarden

I love the clean white spaces of this card. It's bright and vibrant yet has subtlety too.
The matching thinlits in the 'Serene Garden' bundle have an embossing piece that doesn't cut like the other dies, but embossed. It is so pretty and very detailed. This embossing piece is what I used to create the subtle background with.

#KOCreationsCards #HandMadeCards #StampinUp30 #CardMaking #Congratulations #Wedding #Engagement #SereneGarden

The flowers and cute butterfly were painted with 'Aqua Painters', 'Melon Mambo' and 'So Saffron' ink pads. The leaves were cut from 'Garden Green' card stock and the lattice was cut using the 'Petals and More' thinlit dies.

I do hope you have enjoyed my project today.

Stamping Dreams Blog Hop - Birthday Theme

Hello everyone and welcome 😊
I am enjoying some hopping fun today with the Stampin' Dreams crew. You are currently here with Kim Oliver (KOCreations Cards) I have a full list of hop participants towards the end of this post.
Today the Stampin' Dreams crew are all celebrating Birthdays.

I have chosen to create with a mix of stamp sets today.
It's one of the things I love about Stampin' Up!® all of our products meld so well together.

Here is my Birthday project.

Happy Birthday

#KOCreationsCards #BirthdayCards #StampinUp30 #Handmadecards #HealingHugs #BotanicalBliss #RubberStamping #InspiredByNature #Roses

I chose to keep this card simple with loads of clean space.
My colour scheme is also simple ~ Crushed Curry, Very Vanilla and Tuxedo Black.
Both of these choices made this card an extremely striking one.
A statement card if you will.
I veered away from my usual Whisper White card base for toadys project and have chosen Very Vanilla instead. I did this becausse I thought it gave the card a warmer feeling.

#KOCreationsCards #BirthdayCards #StampinUp30 #Handmadecards #HealingHugs #BotanicalBliss #RubberStamping #InspiredByNature #Roses

The stamps sets I chose to use are 'Healing Hugs' and 'Botanical Blooms'. Both of which are available from the new 2018/2019 Annual Catalogue.

I simply adore the photographic quality of the rose and leaves from 'Healing Hugs' stamp set. I stamped the rose 3 times in Crushed Curry using the Stamparatus as I wanted the colour to be bold.
The sentiment and floral flourish from Botanical Bliss really softens the whole card perfectly.

Thank you for joining me today and I do hope you have enjoyed my simple project.

Home Decor SU Style Blog Hop

Hello everyone 😊
Welcome to my blog. I am hopping today with a group of Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators from around the world. We are sharing with you our ideas for Home Decor items, all created using Stampin' Up!® products.

I started with the idea of somehow using our gorgeous Copper Tea Tins that are available from our 2018/2019 Annual catalogue (page 14) and went from there.

I wanted to make a gift that could be given for any reason.
It could be a Get Well, New Home, Thinking Of You or a Birthday.

Here is what I came up with.

Tea Room Coasters

#KOCreationscards #StampinUp30 #TeaRoomSuite #HomeDecor #HomeDecorSUStyle #HandMadeGifts #LoveItChopIt #DIY

I have created a set of 6 coasters that fit perfectly inside the stunning Copper Tea Tin.
I made six so that each coaster could be reversible by having the reverse side of the DSP.

I have a few shots of some of the processes I went through to create this gorgeous little gift set.

Firstly I covered my tin.
These stunning little Tea Tins come in a box of 4 and are part of the 'Tea Room' suite (pg14)and are perfect for creating gifts.
You can see from the pictures below that I cut a strip of the 12 x 12 'Tea Room' DSP at 3-⅛" (8cm) . I applied TomBow glue to the reverse side and glued it to the copper Tea Tin one side at a time.

#KOCreationscards #StampinUp30 #TeaRoomSuite #HomeDecor #HomeDecorSUStyle #HandMadeGifts #LoveItChopIt #DIY
After I finished covering the tin, I created a label using the 'Stitched All Around' framelits and a flower stamped in 'Crushed Curry' from the 'Botanical Bliss' stamp set. I stamped the sentiment in versamark and heat embossed it with Copper embossing powder (refer pictures below) I held the label in place with dimensionals and tied 'Silver and Petal Pink Bakers Twine' from one side of the label, around the tin to the other side of the label.

#KOCreationscards #StampinUp30 #TeaRoomSuite #HomeDecor #HomeDecorSUStyle #HandMadeGifts #LoveItChopIt #DIY
Once the tin was completed I moved on to creating my coasters. This took a little more work than expected, basically because my jigsaw cutting was...well to put it bluntly CRAP!
I had been to my local hardware store only last week and picked up some MDF packing board (for free). And purchased a new jigsaw at the same time. Now I haven't actually used a jigsaw since High School Wood/Metal shop class 😱
How hard could it be....right!
HAHAHA It turns out that it's quite difficult.  Keeping the darn thing in a straight line was near to impossible to start with. So, loads of sanding had to be done just to smooth the bumpy edges off the first couple of coaster bases.
#KOCreationscards #StampinUp30 #TeaRoomSuite #HomeDecor #HomeDecorSUStyle #HandMadeGifts #LoveItChopIt #DIY
When I had cut and sanded all 6 coasters, I applied the 'Tea Room' Specialty DSP. My coaster bases are 3.5" x 3.5" (8.8cm x 8.8cm) The DSP was cut ⅛" (3mm) larger there were 12 DSP pieces. To adhere the paper to the bases, I painted TomBow glue all over the MDF and placed my pre-cut DSP pieces over the top. When the glue had dried, I sanded the excess paper away from the edges. I then coated side edges of the MDF with Versamark Ink and Copper Embossing Powder. Once heated it gives a sweet copper finish to the coasters edges that matches the tin beautifully.

#KOCreationscards #StampinUp30 #TeaRoomSuite #HomeDecor #HomeDecorSUStyle #HandMadeGifts #LoveItChopIt #DIY
I needed to make the coasters water resistant so, I sprayed a Krylon Acrylic sealer over them. Around 10 layers was applied. I left it to dry and then did the same to the reverse side. This means that the coasters can now be wiped with a wet/damp cloth to be kept clean.

You could store the coasters in this cute tin or fill the tin up with tea bags/leaves and and be prepared for a cuppa anytime with family and friends, all while keeping your table/bench tops drip/cup mark free 😂

I do hope you have enjoyed my little home decor gift idea. There are plenty more ideas to be seen just by following the hop list below.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest ~ Danielle Kassing

Hello everyone 😊

I am hopping today with the Crazy Crafters Team and our special guest Danielle Kassing

We have all taken some time and chosen a project that has inspired our own designs today.

This is the project that I found inspiration from today

I really enjoyed how the arranged background on this card has used up small pieces of DSP.

Here is my project.

#KOCreationsCards #PostcardPals #Cardmaking #Birthdaycards #StampinUp30 #Animals #IdeasUsingScraps

I have used a new stamp set called Postcard Pals for my card.
Isn't that little image just the cutest 😍

The background colours are a mix of cardstock pieces I had laying around, 'Mossy Meadow' and 'Petal Pink' with a piece of the 'Share What You Love' Specialty DSP.
One piece of Petal Pink cardstock has been stamped in 'Memento Tuxedo Black' ink using the 'Post Script' background stamp, just to carry through the postal theme 😉

The focal image has been raised up on 'Dimensionals'. The sentiment is from the 'Postcard Pals' stamp set and is heat embossed in 'White Embossing Powder'
I have added 3 'Artisan Pearls' just for litte extra splash of colour.

I do hope you ahve enjoyed my little card project today.
There is loads more to see, so please continue hopping through the rest.

#CI35 Colour Inkspiration Crew - Nautical Neutrals

Hello and welcome to this fortnights Colour INKspiration challenge #CI35  😊

You have reached Kim Oliver - KOCreations Cards. There is a NEXT button a little further down to keep you moving through the hop.

Stampin' Up!® has just had a major colour revamp, so to start off the new catalogue year at Colour INKspiration we've decided to feature a Colour Collection for the first challenge each month (2nd Wednesday) until we have showcased then all! The second challenge in the month (4th Wednesday) will be a Pinterest inspired pic as per usual, just to mix it up. This month we are starting off with the Neutrals Collection and you can choose any 3 colours from that range for your challenge project.
We are also changing the rules about what else you can add to the mix; essentially just the basics - Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Basic Black as well as Metallic.

If have joined me from the very clever Jackie Aitken's page, welcome 😊
Did you enjoy Jackie's card? I certainly did. The Rooted In Nature set is just gorgeous! I noticed a little stitched Label peeping from behind the tree! Did you see it too?

Here is the Challenge Palette.
The colour choices this quarter are amazing.
The NEW NEUTRALS collection! The new collection has a couple of the new colours mixed in.
Can you guess which colours I chose??

The colours I chose to create with are pictured below.

Here is my Project.

Nautical Neutrals

#KOCreationsCards #SeaOfTextures #CardMaking #StampinUp30 #Colorrevamp #NewNeutrals2019 #MerryMerlot #MossyMeadow #SaharaSand #InspiredByNature

This card is super easy to create. Just stamp your images in your desired colours and die cut them using the co-ordinating thinlits! I didn't even stamp some of the images I just die cut them using coloured card stock.
I have added a Stitched Label behind the octopus image in Sahara Sand to help make him pop.
I am super happy with how this little project finished.

Up next we have Kelly Kent sharing her beautiful inspirations.

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Sea Of Textures

Hello everyone 😊
and

Welcome to the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop (Second Sunday) hosted by Sara Levin.

You are currently here with Kim Oliver - KO Creations Cards - Australia. I have a list of hop participants closer to the end of this post.

Today the Design Team are creating with the new suite Sea Of Textures.

Which have also been added to the Global Design challenge #143.
The theme for Global Designs challenge is Love It Live It Share It.

One of the things I love about being a Stampin' Up!® is sharing with my customers what we can create, using ingenuity and our gorgeous products.

Here are my projects I created.

Adventure Begins

#KOCreationsCards #SeaOfTextures #ArtJournal #Travelling #Gifts #Handmadegifts #Cardmaking #StampinUp30 #2018AnnulaCatalogue2019  #Adventure #Alteredartjournal #Shakerelement #Octopus #Sealife

I made a 'Shaker Card' card. I created a port window using the Layering Circle framelits and a circle of Window Sheet. All elements inside and on the card have been created using the Sea Of Textures suite. Can you see the little blue fish in the background with the octopus 😍  cute eh !?!
This card would be perfect for those starting out on a new journey in life, travelling or even a new job.
This got me thinking about life journeys and/or travelling and how a lot of us like to keep journals. Some of us even like to keep art journals.

So here is my 'Art Journal'.

Journal and Place mark

#KOCreationsCards #SeaOfTextures #ArtJournal #Travelling #Gifts #Handmadegifts #Cardmaking #StampinUp30 #2018AnnulaCatalogue2019  #Adventure #Alteredartjournal #Shakerelement #Octopus #Sealife

I also created a place mark to match, I was going to add tabs to the books pages as well, but basically, I ran out of time.

The port window on the cover is an exact replica of the one on the card front, so yes it is a shaker 😂
I decided that the net should be silver but textured. To achieve this effect I cut two net piece from Thick Whisper White and then smeared 'Silver Embossing Paste' with a 'Palette Knife' and left to dry. Once dry I chopped it randomly and glued into position on  the cover.
This journal has blank pages except one. The first page only has been stamped with memento black ink using the stamps from the 'Sea Of Textures' stamp set.

Open View of Journal and Card.

#KOCreationsCards #SeaOfTextures #ArtJournal #Travelling #Gifts #Handmadegifts #Cardmaking #StampinUp30 #2018AnnulaCatalogue2019  #Adventure #Alteredartjournal #Shakerelement #Octopus #Sealife

As you can see I even added a little pocket inside the cover to keep any little notes and/or ephemera picked up along a journey.

Journal and Card

Looks like I will be busy for a while hahaha.
