Enjoy The Little Things In Life Video Blog Hop - Holiday Catalogue

Welcome to the Enjoy The Little Things In Life DT Video Blog Hop.
We are a small group of dedicated demonstrators from around the world sharing what we love with you all with a video for each blog post..
We are focusing our creative attention this month on items from the new catalogue.
For me I love mixing new items with ones that we have available already. Stampin' up!® products are perfect for mixing and matching.

Here is my project.

#KOCreationsCards #MasculineCards #FathersDay #CardMaking #StampinUp30 #RubberStamping #ShimmerPaints #HolidayCatalogue2018

I created this project for my husband Dean. It's Fathers Day next weekend and the kids and I always try to make his day a memorable one. My hubby adores being outdoors, collecting junk (he says it isn't junk!) and buys and sells scrap metal. Along with a lot of other interests, so hopefully this card helps achieve that goal of making his day one to remember.

Here is my video sharing my creative process

Crazy Crafters blog hop with Patsy Waggoner

Hello and welcome to another Crazy Crafter's blog hop.

You are currently here with me (Kim Oliver - KOCreations Cards) and I have a complete list of blog hop partcipants closer to the end of this post.

Today our special guest and source of inspiration is none other than the lovely Patsy Waggoner of Stamps To Die For.
I love Patsy's work mainly because she uses DSP so well. I am a bit of a paper hoarder, Okay I HUGE paper hoarder šŸ˜• and because of this I tend to only use small pieces instead of bigger ones for my cards.......
So,
today I got brave and chopped my gorgeous Frosted Floral DSP and paired it with the matching bundle called 'First Frost'

Here is my Project.

Frosted Christmas

#KOCreationsCards #FrostedFloral #HolidayCatalogue2018 #StampinUp30 #Vintage #ShabbyChic #ChristmasCards #CardMaking #PaperCrafts #DIYcrafts #PrimitiveDesigns

This card is not your everyday Christmas card, there is no traditional red and greens anywhere here. I have used Mint Macaron, Crumb Cake and Bright Copper
I have used a new suite for today called the 'Frosted Floral' suite. It comprises of Designer Series Paper, a Stamps set and matching Framelits along with loads of gorgeous embellishments. All of these items will be available to you from the 5th of September.

#KOCreationsCards #FrostedFloral #HolidayCatalogue2018 #StampinUp30 #Vintage #ShabbyChic #ChristmasCards #CardMaking #PaperCrafts #DIYcrafts #PrimitiveDesigns

Basic Instructions

  • My card base is half and A4 sheet. Cut Portrait style at 10.5cm then score landscape at 14.9cm
  • The label was created using Shimmery White card stock and has been adhered using Dimensionals.
  • The image used is from the Bundle 'First Frost' and has been stamped off the label. The stamp itself was coloured using Stampin' Write Markers in Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron and Shaded Spruce.
  • I stamped this image again on a scrap piece of Shimmery White by colouring the stamp in the same manner as above and Die cut it using the matching Framelits. This was adhered over the top of the first image using Mini Dimensionals.
  • The sentiment has been stamped in Blackberry Bliss, using the Stamparatus.  I then daubed Bright Copper Shimmer paint randomly over the stamp and re-stamped over the top.
  • I honoured Patsy today by using a full card front sized piece of this gorgeous 'Frosted Floral' pearlized DSP cut at 10.1cm x 14.5cm. This has had Bright Copper Shimmer Paint lightly scrunched over the surface.
  • I sanded the edges of the DSP ever so lightly, just to enhance the already distressed look the DSP has. This was adhered to my card base using MultiPurpose Liquid Glue.
  • I used the Corrugated Dynamic TIEF to create the piece of distressed cardboard positioned behind my label. This has also had Bright Copper Shimmer Paint daubed/wiped randomly in places.
  • I used a 30 cm length of Copper Trim uncut, but pulled out wide over the corrugated card stock. I held this in place with glue dots before wrapping Linen Thread around the trim and corrugated card piece.
  • I added to this a Corrugated Element (also daubed with Shimmer Paint cause I just LOVE THE STUFF!) with a bow of Linen Thread and a Copper Metallic Brad. All adhered to the trim using a glue dot.

Addinktive Design Team - Festive Farmhouse Z-Fold box card

Hello again šŸ˜Š I thought while I am on a bit of a roll with Christmas cards I might share with you a card I created with Bronwyn Eastley called the Festive Farmhouse Z-Fold Box Card
I thoroughly enjoy creating for the AddINKtive Design Team and this time was even better because I got to craft with the guru herself. Bronwyn had made ups some Z-Fold ox card packs for us.

Here is the card made during that evening.

Festive Farmhouse Christmas Card
#KOCreationsCards #FestiveFarmhouse #HolidayCatalgue2018 #AddinktiveDesignTeam #3Dcards #ZFoldcards #AddinktiveTutorials

We created these cards after our Tassie Stampin' Up!® get together. We had already had a full day playing with new products, learning new techniques and creating make and takes.
So this was the perfect finish to our day.
Bronwyn had the packs and the stamps ready to go when we arrived.
The original plan involved shimmer paint, which looked amazing btw.
But, I was a bit tired and forgot to add any lol
My idea was to add the contrasting DSP top and bottom of the z-fold , this made the blue background really pop (shame I forgot the shimmer paint šŸ˜‚)
I am yet to add a sentiment to my card but one will definitely get added before I send it.

Here is my project for the #CI40 challenge

Happy

#KOCreationsCards #CountryLane #Rustic #Grunge #TinTiles #HolidayCatalogue2018 #HolidayCataloge2018 #WaterColor #WaterColour #ShimmerPaint #ChickenWire #Flowers #CardMaking #StampinUp30

I just love that cream can, flowers and that Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder really creates a WOW background. And don't get me started on how much I am loving the Shimmer Paints! I will be hear all day waxing lyrical about how great it it lol

It's probably a little hard to tell, but I have used Shimmer Paint over the Cream Can  to highlight the lighter areas. It really shines IRL just like a real metal Cream Can.

JOY

#KOCreationsCards #TinTileDynamicTIEF #CorrugatedDynamicTIEF #ChristmasCards #DIY #DIYChristmas #ShabbyChic #VintageChristmas #ShabbyVintage #CorrugatedDynamicTIEF #HolidayCatalogue2018

I am one of those people that have to have some extra special cards that I send to my treasured family and friends each year. These type of cards have to be hand delivered though, as I tend to create them a little bulky lol.

And as I simply adore Shabby Chic and Vintage looks, this is the style I have chosen to create my first couple of Christmas cards in.
AND Some of the new products lend itself to these looks extremely well!

I do get VERY excited about texture and I must say that while I was creating these two cards I started giggling and clapping like a little girl at Christmas time haha. I was just a bit happy that no-one was home at the time too lmao!

Here is a little info about what went into these designs.

I have only used a small piece of Designer Series Paper for this card. The DSP and the corrugated Crumb Cake has been distressed around the edges.
The word joy has been coloured using sponge daubers and Bright Copper Shimmer Paint.
I also created a poinsettia to top my card with.
I mentioned this small Poinsettia that you can see in another post earlier today.
If you click the words Home Decor you can see the full post and how the basic Poinsettia's are made using my FREE pictorial instructions.

HAPPINESS

#KOCreationsCards #TinTileDynamicTIEF #CorrugatedDynamicTIEF #ChristmasCards #DIY #DIYChristmas #ShabbyChic #VintageChristmas #ShabbyVintage #CorrugatedDynamicTIEF #HolidayCatalogue2018
I have kept the Shabby Vintage feel for this card too, using a lot of the same elements from my first card.
The main difference between these two cards is the added piece of DSP behind the 'Tin Tile' embossed 'Cherry Cobbler' card stock and the label plate.
I created the sentiment label plate using 'Pretty Label' punch and the 'Bright Copper Shimmer Paint'. This was given a tarnished effect by rubbing Memento black ink around the edges and gently over part of the front. I also added metallic brads in copper to each end.
To bring the Crumb Cake colour from the background to the front I have added a pulled apart length of Burlap Ribbon behind the sentiment plate.

#KOCreationsCards #TinTileDynamicTIEF #CorrugatedDynamicTIEF #ChristmasCards #DIY #DIYChristmas #ShabbyChic #VintageChristmas #ShabbyVintage #CorrugatedDynamicTIEF #HolidayCatalogue2018

I have used 'Old Olive' and 'Mossy Meadow' card stock for the sprigs. The Berries have been stamped using the two step stamp from the 'Peaceful Noel' stamp set, in 'Memento' and 'Cherry Cobbler' inks. One layer of the Berries has had the 'Clear Epoxy Droplets' added after colouring with the 'Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends'.

I do hope you have enjoyed my projects today.
I also hope I have inspired you to start a 'Wish List' of some products you have seen today too.

Home Decor - Hand Made Christmas Ornaments - Poinsettia

Hello everyone šŸ˜Š
I have created for you some hanging Christmas Tree ornaments.
It's getting round to that time of year (soon any way) and hand made ornaments always look amazing.
Every year our Christmas Tree is filled with hand made items, from what my children and I make each year to hand sewn critters and shapes that have been given as gifts.

For this project, I have used some soon to be released products along with part of a bundle from the Annual Catalogue called 'Rooted In Nature'.

Here is my project.

Christmas Poinsettia's

#KOCreationsCards #StampinUp30 #Holiday #ChristmasOrnaments #DIY #Poinsettas #NaturesRoots #ShimmerPaint #HolidayCatalogue2018

For the above picture I have just lent the Poinsettia ornaments against a fir branch. This way you can see them in full light.
I have added to the edges of one Poinsettia a small amount of 'Bright Copper Shimmer Paint' and left the other two clean. Just so you can see the difference.
You may have also noticed some embellishments at the ends of the ornament ties.
The Copper Star is an embellishment that will soon be available to everyone from the upcoming Holiday Catalogue. The olive heart is from my own collection of beads that I have stashed away šŸ˜‰
The ties have been created using Linen Thread. I am going to make some more of these and use some seasonal Striped Burlap Ribbon to hang the ornaments from. I think that woulld look amazing too.

Below I have added a quick little pictorial showing the steps for creating your own Poinsettia's

#KOCreationsCards #StampinUp30 #Holiday #ChristmasOrnaments #DIY #Poinsettias #NaturesRoots #ShimmerPaint #HolidayCatalogue2018

Just by using the 2 leaf framelits and 2 embossing framelits from the Natures Roots Framelits set you can create these gorgeous poinsettia's!
They really are so very simple. All you need is a little patience waiting for the large dollop of glue to dry a little and start to become tacky.

Why not give these a try yourself.
2 Sheets of Cherry Cobbler and 1 of Old Olive was all it took to create these 3 Poinsettia's plus 1 smaller Poinsettia.
"Later today as part of another blog hop (For The Love Of Creating With SU)  you will see the smaller poinsettia I have made for a Christmas card".

Hanging Poinsetta's

#KOCreationsCards #StampinUp30 #Holiday #ChristmasOrnaments #DIY #Poinsettas #NaturesRoots #ShimmerPaint #HolidayCatalogue2018

In the above picture you can see how they look hanging from a branch. They have an absolutely stunning appeal and look to them. All that texture from the embossing die really brings these Poinsettia's to life, don't you agree?

Well I do hope you have enjoyed my post today and I look forward to seeing what you think my creations.

ESAD Colour Your Season blog hop

Hello and welcome to another wonderful ESAD hop.
You are currently here with me Kim Oliver- KOCreations Cards. You have most likely arrived from this clever ladies blog - Jackie Noble of Creative Jax.

If you have just started the hop here, don't stress šŸ˜‰ I have a button further down for you to continue moving through to the next lovely designer in the hop.

Today we are focusing our creative abilities on the Limited Edition items
Colour Your Season.
This includes the Blended Seasons Stamp set, the Stitched Season Framelits and some new Watercolor Pencils in a range of different colours.

I have chosen to use the Blended Seasons bundle and have created a Bi Fold Window Card.

CONGRATS

This is just one card. I have shown it 4 different ways.
I adore how adding an extra fold gives this card  so many more ways to view it.
I deliberately didn't add a sentiment to the front of my card. I have also left the middle of my card  blank so a personal message can be added. I have stamped Congrats on the right inside fold. The word Congrats could be for many reasons, so the card is still very versatile.

I will now show you some larger shots so you can see more details.

Closed Front View

#KOCreationsCards #BlendedSeasonsBundle #WaterColour #WaterColor #Techniques #Congrats #CardMaking #InspiredByNature #Flowers #BifoldCard #ShabbyChic #Bees #StampinUp30

I wanted a Shabby feel to my card but I didn't want to tear the paper, as it would distract from the beautiful flowers too much. So I sanded the edges ever so lightly just to show some of the white hiding under the Blushing Bride. This kept the same feel of the paper in it's original form.
I wanted a contrast to the wood grain and the soft pinks, so I added some copper brads to die cut background around the outside edges.
I sponged Sahara Sand around the edges of the die cut stitched label, both the negative and the positive images to help grunge it up just a little. I also added some copper trim under the flowers to add a little bit more texture.

Open First Fold

#KOCreationsCards #BlendedSeasonsBundle #WaterColour #WaterColor #Techniques #Congrats #CardMaking #InspiredByNature #Flowers #BifoldCard #ShabbyChic #Bees #StampinUp30

The flowers and leaves have been water coloured using Aqua Painters and Ink pressed onto on Clear blocks. I coloured two images. Once all coloured I fussy cut the image out and layered onto the Copper Trim using Dimensionals.
Can you see some of the other details a little better?
What about the Bee, have you spotted him yet? He was added by first stamping him in black straight onto the coloured flowers. I then stamped him again in Sahara Sand on a scrap piece and water coloured the body. When dry, I cut it out and glued over the top of the black stamped image.

Side View

#KOCreationsCards #BlendedSeasonsBundle #WaterColour #WaterColor #Techniques #Congrats #CardMaking #InspiredByNature #Flowers #BifoldCard #ShabbyChic #Bees #StampinUp30
For the inside I decided that clean and simple was the go. I fussy cut out the other water coloured image and glued the top half to the inside of the right fold.

Open Second Fold

#KOCreationsCards #BlendedSeasonsBundle #WaterColour #WaterColor #Techniques #Congrats #CardMaking #InspiredByNature #Flowers #BifoldCard #ShabbyChic #Bees #StampinUp30

I stamped the word Congrats to the right of the flowers, this left the middle section completely blank for a more personal note to be written at a later stage.
