Here is the Challenge Palette for #CI40

 The colour choices this quarter are rich and regal. It includes 2 of my fave colours also Old Olive and Gorgeous Grape 😍

You must use all 3 of these gorgeous colours for this challenge, plus you can add to your mix any of Basics colours (White, Black or Very Vanilla) and any of the Metallics.

I have chosen to use a suite I have seriously fallen in L💗VE  with called 'Country Lane'.
The 'Country Lane' suite and loads of other stunning suites are part of the upcoming Holiday Catalogue that will be available from the 5th of September 2018.

I just love that cream can, flowers and that Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder really creates a WOW background. And don't get me started on how much I am loving the Shimmer Paints! I will be hear all day waxing lyrical about how great it it lol

It's probably a little hard to tell, but I have used Shimmer Paint over the Cream Can  to highlight the lighter areas. It really shines IRL just like a real metal Cream Can.

ESAD Colour Your Season blog hop

Hello and welcome to another wonderful ESAD hop. 

You are currently here with me Kim Oliver- KOCreations Cards. You have most likely arrived from this clever ladies blog - Jackie Noble of Creative Jax.

Today we are focusing our creative abilities on the Limited Edition items
Colour Your Season.
This includes the Blended Seasons Stamp set, the Stitched Season Framelits and some new Watercolor Pencils in a range of different colours.

I have chosen to use the Blended Seasons bundle and have created a Bi Fold Window Card.

CONGRATS

This is just one card. I have shown it 4 different ways.
I adore how adding an extra fold gives this card  so many more ways to view it.
I deliberately didn't add a sentiment to the front of my card. I have also left the middle of my card  blank so a personal message can be added. I have stamped Congrats on the right inside fold. The word Congrats could be for many reasons, so the card is still very versatile.

I wanted a Shabby feel to my card but I didn't want to tear the paper, as it would distract from the beautiful flowers too much. So I sanded the edges ever so lightly just to show some of the white hiding under the Blushing Bride. This kept the same feel of the paper in it's original form.
I wanted a contrast to the wood grain and the soft pinks, so I added some copper brads to die cut background around the outside edges.
I sponged Sahara Sand around the edges of the die cut stitched label, both the negative and the positive images to help grunge it up just a little. I also added some copper trim under the flowers to add a little bit more texture.

The flowers and leaves have been water coloured using Aqua Painters and Ink pressed onto on Clear blocks. I coloured two images. Once all coloured I fussy cut the image out and layered onto the Copper Trim using Dimensionals.
Can you see some of the other details a little better?
What about the Bee, have you spotted him yet? He was added by first stamping him in black straight onto the coloured flowers. I then stamped him again in Sahara Sand on a scrap piece and water coloured the body. When dry, I cut it out and glued over the top of the black stamped image.

  For the inside I decided that clean and simple was the go. I fussy cut out the other water coloured image and glued the top half to the inside of the right fold.

I stamped the word Congrats to the right of the flowers, this left the middle section completely blank for a more personal note to be written at a later stage.

 I have revisited an old box design using the tag topper punch to create this sweet candle box. I altered the design to make it taller, so as to fit a larger candle.

Items Used

• Card Stock - Thick Whisper White (base), Daffodil Delight (box and card layers), Pink Pirouette and Water Colour card stock.
• Stamp Set - Bird Banter.
• Stitched Shapes framelits.
• Powder Pink Shimmer ribbon.
• Ink Pads - Pink Pirouette, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Archival Black.
• Stampin' Blends - Light  Pink Pirouette, Light Gray, Light Bermuda Bay and Light Daffodil Delight.

Tutorial for Tag Topper Box

1. Place card stock into stampin' Trimmer landscape orientation and cut at 23cm turn to portrait and cut at 15cm.
2. Put back in trimmer landscape orientation and score @3cm, 8cm,13cm and18cm turn to portrait orientation and score @ 5cm and 10cm.
3. Cut away shaded areas to resemble diagram 3 (below). Mitre two back flaps on the inside and 2nd flap in on the left side
4. Slide the top 3cm flap into the tag topper (wriggle it) all the way back to the stopper guide. Punch. Repeat with the side 3cm tags till all are done.
5. Add glue to outside bottom flaps and hold into position.
6. Fold flaps below tag topped flaps inwards and add glue. Hold into position.

For my Aunty

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.

 I lost my lovely Aunty last week rather suddenly. Her name was Phyllis Chan.
She was an awesome and beautful lady.
I have some wonderful fond memories of my time spent with her and her family while I was growing up. 

 Aunty Phyl has 4 children, 2 Daughters and 2 Boys. All who now have families of their own. That not only makes Aunty Phyl a Mother but also a Grandmother. She was also a Wife, Sister, Daughter and last but far from least a friend to many people.

I am already missing her dearly. 

For her family I have made some cards to try and express my feelings and show my support for them during their time of grief.
I do hope that they convey the love and all of the memories that was flowing through me  while I was creating them.

For inspiration during this time I used the colours from Colour Inkspiration #CI30

 The Colour are Fresh Fig, Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Sky and Pumpkin Pie

The items I used to create with are as follows - Vintage Leaves and Leaflet Framelits (both retired) , Lovely As A Tree and Heartfelt Sympathy along with Teeny Tiny Sentiments and Woodland embossing folder.

I decided on which technique to do when I had a fantastic response to a card I created last week. I was asked specifically to share what I do.
So, my technique is watercolouring.

Here is my video showing how I created these water colour cards.

Items Used for cards in video

• Card Stock : A4 Crumb Cake keeping scrap pieces for oval focal etc, A4 Thick Very Vanilla, A4 Early Espresso plus the scrap pieces for sentiments.
• Petal Palette Clear-Mount bundle and Southern Serenade stamp set
• Ink Pads: Blushing Bride, Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip.
• Stiched Shapes framelits.
• Pearl Basic Jewels, Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
• Stampin' Blends: Dark Crumb Cake and Bronze.
• Copper trim.
• Burlap ribbon.
• Decorative Ribbon Border Punch.
• Aqua Painter.
• Adhesives: Foam Adhesive Strips, Multi Purpose Liquid Glue (tombow), Glue Dots.

Basic Instructions

1. Place Crumb Cake card stock into Stampin' Trimmer portrait style and score the length at 10.5 cm, Fold on score line turn and cut in half at 14.9 cm =  2 Crumb Cake bases @ 10.5cm x 14.9cm in landscape orientation. 
2. Cut 2 pieces of  Early Espresso card stock at 14.5 x 10.1 cm.  Cut two more pieces, 1 at 2.3cm x 9.7cm and another at 7.9cm x 9.7cm for split panel card
3. Cut 2 pieces of Very Vanilla card stock at 14.1 cm x 9.7 cm. Cut two more pieces, 1 at 2.1cm x 9.7 cm and another at 7.7cm x 9.7cm for split panel card. 
4. Layer the two strips of Very Vanilla onto the Early Espresso leaving the edge showing along the length of one side only.
5. Adhere the stamped Very Vanilla layers to the Early Espresso layers for both cards. 
6. For the Baronia flower card only adhere the two strips of layered Early Espresso and Very Vanilla together and adhere to the painted Very Vanilla card stamped image with foam strips.
7. Punch Decorative Ribbon Border an trim to size from a piece of Early Espresso card stock
8. Stamp sentiments onto scrap pieces of Very Vanilla
9. Layer one for the split panel card over stamped, painted and fussy cut image with a crumbcake stitched oval behind. 
10. Placethe other on Petal Palette rose card front after layering and stapling together. Hold in place using glue dots.
11. Colour pearls with Stampin' Blends Dark Crumb Cake and Bronze and adhere them and rhinestones into desired positions.

I have incorporated some different items to complete my card. A FREE item, the Tutti Frutti card base, you can just see the striped edges poking out. Also I used an existing annual item from the Oh So Eclectic dies, the green diamond lattice.
