Pop Of Pink 'You Are' PPA300 Sketch Challenge

Pop Of Pink

Welcome back to my Blog...I have been MIA  these last couple of weeks trying to keep up with my children hahahaha! No Hope, so I gave up and went creating instead.

I took a swing past Pals Paper Arts to see what challenges the creative masters were throwing down! I found this sketch challenge from Sandie Conner !

I thought about what I could showcase for you all, so you could see some of the great new products available in the newly released catalogue.

I remembered the gorgeous 'Pop Of Pink' DSP that I have in-stock from my Pre-Order, along with a new stamp and thinlit bundle   I had also purchased from the Catalogue.
I took some liberties with the #PPA300 design, but tried to keep true to the format as much as possible.

Using coordinating colours from the DSP I made up my card bases.

I doubled the doilies so that the colour beneath didn't bleed through & the white stayed crisp and clear.
I cut 2 strips of wavy lines with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits
& also I cut out the nests using all three sizes in the thinlits.

I cut out the leaves using wild wasabi & the leaves from the Swirly Scribbles thinlits & the flowers using Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo. Using both the elegant  & the bitty butterfly punches with the DSP scraps to embellish the cards.

Adding the Gold Metallic Thread added some extra bling and carried through the gold from the DSP below. With the Brights Sequins Assortments adding sparkle to the centre of the small flowers. I used the largest scalloped square from the Layering Squares Framelits set + the normal square layered on top 1/2 size smaller.

I actually have never used Washi tape before "WHAT" I hear you gasp! I have always been and still am little timid of it...But I think it turned out quite nicely for this card. Might try it again now, lol

I had noticed some of the waste centres from the medium nests were little swirls too. And I wondered if I could use them... I used them up here as an extra detail with the sweet little bird from the Swirly Bird stamp set. For the background on this card I grabbed my Melon Mambo ink and the splatter stamp from Swirly Bird set and just inked areas where I thought it would look good.
