Global Design Project #033 | Colour Challenge

GDP033-Color Challenge

I enjoyed last weeks GDP project so much!
I thought I would see what they were up to again this week.
&
WOW !

The Color Challenge

As you can see from  the color palette above, I was in for a great challenge. One that would again, take me waaaaay out of my comfort zone!
As I have some orders to fill that required bicycles, I tried to combine my orders with the color palette, to see if I could make it work.

This is the first card that I came up with.

'Pedal Pusher'

As I mentioned earlier, I was trying to combine this challenge with a current order, so the first card was complimented by 2 more to make a set of 3!

How I made the 'Pedal Pusher' trio:

  • Well first up I grabbed some A4 card stock in Night of Navy, Calypso Coral & Sahara Sand, then thought wow & reached for the Very Vanilla to break it up! I also at this stage remembered my order... so I grabbed the Pedal Pusher stamp set.
  • I was also trying to use up some of my DSPS and I remembered that a particular DSPS is heavily laden with Calypso Coral color and got out the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack.
  • I chose my DSPS sheets to use as backing, cut some Card stock to stamp on and played with layouts...Each card had to be slightly different but still carry a theme.
  • I punched out a couple of decorative labels and cut them in half, using then as an interest piece behind the stamped images.
  • Using some punches for the flowers, one being petite petals. I layered the flowers with the sentiment and burlap ribbon cut. You can see where I punched out a heart using the sweetheart punch. I double layered this with Sahara Sand cardstock behind the pretty petals dsps sheet.
  • I couldn't believe my luck when I found I still had some Calypso Coral dotted lace, so I quickly utilized some of this as well.
I am very happy with how this set finished & I hope you like them too.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look at my blog
