#PPA302 – A Sketch by Nicole Watt

Congrats

- A sketch challenge from Nicole Watt over at Pals Paper Arts Showcase

Good evening :)
Tonight I will be sharing a card based on the sketch below From Pals Paper Arts. This Sketch was designed by Nicole Watt

PPA-302-May26

As this card was based around a sketch I thought I would use it as a perfect opportunity to use up some of my retired DSP & Bakers Twine. As the more I use, the more I can replenish with new stock.....that's my reasoning any way lol.
Shhh don't tell hubby :)

Here is my card made using the challenge sketch.

#KOCreationscards #Boldbutterflyframelits #DSP #Rosered #Bakerstwine

As you can see from the picture above I have used a paper doily folded in half so that the white stays strong clean & crisp. I have used the bakers twine (Cherry Cobbler) as accent points. The Bold Butterfly Framelits have become my focal in Rose Red and Whisper White. The DSP is a sheet of 6 x 6 Love Blossoms & has been cut down to size.

#KOCreationscards #Boldbutterflyframelits #DSP #Rosered #Bakerstwine

I added a slice of the DSP to the inside + swapped the butterfly color arrangement and added them to the inside as well. When the card is fully opened you also have the Bakers twine running along the inside of the card for added interest.

I hope you enjoyed my creation tonight. So very happy you stopped by to check it out.

Thank you

&

I hope to see you back again soon :)

Some of the items I used are currently available in the new catalogue, so I have listed them below for you in the carousel.

#GDP037 - Colour Challenge

Admired, respected & loved....that's you.

Welcome to my blog.

Today I am blogging my card made for the Global Design Project team. This weeks challenge is based around color. You can see the colors that the team have chosen below. Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe & Island Indigo.

I chose for this card a more manly theme. I haven't made a male orientated card for a while, so I was excited. I used 'The Wilderness Awaits' &  'Lovely As A Tree' stamp sets.

Here is my card

Admired, respected loved....

#KOCreationscards ##thewildernessawaits #lovelyasatree #GDP037

Before I started stamping on my Very Vanilla cardstock, I made masks of my images to help me create the scene. I then colored the scene using Tip Top Taupe, Island Indigo & Mint Macaron ink pads with my aqua painter. I added Gold Wink of Stella to the deer antlers.
I cut the stamped scene down to size using the Layering Squares thinlits. I also made the scalloped frame using the same thinlits set & backed it all with Tip Top Taupe cardstock. I had some Mint Macaron Birthday Bouquet DSP that I used as my background, which I backed with Island Indigo cardstock with Tear and Tape adhesive.
I mounted almost everything using Stampin' Dimensionals, so the card has lots of layers.

#KOCreationscards ##thewildernessawaits #lovelyasatree #GDP037

Using the sentiment from 'The Wilderness Awaits' stamp set, I stamped with Mint Macaron onto Tip Top Taupe & then cut into little strips. Adding a small edge cut from the Burlap ribbon as an added accent under the last sentiment strip 'That's You'. I topped it all of with some Tip Top Taupe leaves stamped onto Very Vanilla, from the 'Lovely As A Tree' stamp set.

#KOCreationscards ##thewildernessawaits #lovelyasatree #GDP037

For the inside of this card, I used Very Vanilla.
I repeated the stamped leaves in Tip Top Taupe on two corners, leaving plenty of space for a personal message.

The Layered Squares thinlits will be available from June 1st in the new catty.
Everything else I have used is available now & will also be in the upcoming catalog. I hope everyone has there copy.
If you haven't got your copy of the 2017-2017 catty please e-mail me with your postal details to kocreationshandmadecards@gmail.com & I will organize with you to have one sent.

PPA301 – A Color Challenge from Rae Harper

#PPA301 'Thank You'

A Color Challenge from Rae Harper

I thoroughly adore colour challenges & this one is just gorgeous! The challenges always make me think outside my comfort zone....because when it comes to some colour combos I tend to get a little shy!

Well today's card was a last minute decision and was made after dinner tonight 23/5!
I only just scraped in before the cut off time lol

Here is my card.

'THANK You'

#watercolorwash #kocreationscards #helpingmegrow  #layeringsquaresframelits

I have been wanting to use the back ground stamp Watercolor Wash for quite some time and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to showcase it!

#watercolorwash #kocreationscards #helpingmegrow #layeringsquaresframelits

I coloured the stamp by using both Pool Party & Bermuda Bay on the stamp....overlapping the colours a little in the center of the stamp. I dabbed the stamp with a wet wipe in places before stamping very lightly onto a scrap piece of paper. I then stamped completely onto my Whisper White card stock & trimmed to required size.

#watercolorwash #kocreationscards #helpingmegrow #layeringsquaresframelits

When I coloured my flower I scribbled my Crushed Curry Stampin' Write marker on a large stamping block & used the Aqua Painter to pick up the colour. This enabled me to layer the colour how I wanted. I added Gold Wink of Stella to the flower centers.
I fussy cut (rather roughly) around the flowers...as I wanted the effect of being die cut. Stamped the sentiment 'THANKS' onto Crushed Curry and used the rose garden thinlits for the sentiment shape. I stamped the small 'you' onto the bottom of the background.
After layering my Bermuda Bay & Crushed Curry cardstock under the Waterwash background I thought it looked a bit plain. So I grabbed some scrap crushed curry and my Layering Squares Framelits - available in the new catty June 1st - I cut one square and trimmed the edges down and placed them at the bottom of the centerpiece. To add a little more interest I added 3 Pool Party candy dots under the sentiment 'you'.

#watercolorwash #kocreationscards #helpingmegrow #layeringsquaresframelits

I stamped the same flowers slightly off the page on the inside of the card and colored the petals the same as the front.
To finish my card I tied Bermuda Bay thick bakers twine around the front of the card, but in a way so that you can see the colour on the inside too.

Thank you for stopping by my Blog, I do hope you enjoyed my card tonight and hopefully found some inspiration too

xox

Here is a list of most of the items I used to make tonight's card. You can find the Layering Squares Framelits (item #141708) will become available on the 1st of July 2016

Label Latch card 'Remi'

From Lara comes 'REMI'

Welcome back to my blog..... my second blog this week 'Whaaaat!'

Today I am sharing a card I created using a tutorial by Monique Fielder. Monique made the tutorial for a group that I belong to, called 'We Stamp For Lara' . The groups aim is to help raise money for Lara & her parents to purchase items such as better pressure mattress to help make life that little bit more comfortable

Okay firstly. I don't have a pictures for the tutorial I used, as it is a PDF file for charity. But if you would like to join the group for this tutorial, and more fun card making instructions, please follow this link We Stamp For Lara or Contact Pauline Bennetts. It costs $25.00 to join and you get access to the 15 tutorials that will always be available.

Here is a picture of my card :)

Lets get down to the nut's and bolts of 'REMI'.

#loveyoulots #Remi #winkofstella #retiredproducts #newcatalogue #westampforlara

How I made 'REMI';

As a creator I have alot of items from other companies, but I do try to use mostly Stampin' Up!® whenever I have the items available. The label on the front is not an SU item, but there is an awesome labels thinlet set available from Stampin' Up!® that I will be purchasing very soon, called 'Lots Of Labels'
  • To start I used Basic black A4 card stock, left full length but trimmed down to 15cm wide.
  • I then scored a line at 8cm on both ends.
  • Using a labels thinlit on the right side I placed it centrally. I only put the first half die through the bigshot. You can cut the rest of the way with scissors to the fold line.
  • Using the Hostess stamp 'Love You Lots'(only available to those lovelies who want to become a hostess for a Stampin' Up!® party or workshop, online or in home. I stamped the lady birds from  this set onto Whisper White thick A4 card stock. I wanted a scene for my cute little lady birds so I grabbed my pen, my ink pads (Real Red, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzaz & my Craft Stampin' Ink Whisper White, ) & I grabbed my aqua painters & got to it.
  • I decided that toadstools would be the easiest to draw. I drew one set for the front...scanned it onto the computer then printed the scanned image. I coloured both images and cut one with my circle thinlits for the right side above the label latch.
  • I placed Real Red card stock over the Basic Black base & topped that with some pretty DSP. I backed the Whisper White stamped & drawn images with Basic Black before placing on top of the DSP.
  • Using my Confetti Hearts border with a scrap of Real Red; I placed the hearts to look like they were falling onto the ladybirds heads.
  • I cut the name 'REMI' & the number '1' using Red Glimmer paper.
  • In my stash of little bits n' bobs (you know the one that we all seem to collect) I found a teeny tiny peg and 2 little wooden ladybirds. 'Fist Pump' and a loud 'YESSSSSS' lol They quickly became added extras for this cute card.
  • I finished the toadstools with a Wink of Stella in clear and gold.
  • I also used Crystal Effects on  both of the front stamped images for added lift.
  • Around the name 'REMI' I added Rhinestones Basic Jewels (smallest size) to some of the thistle seed centres.

Pop Of Pink 'You Are' PPA300 Sketch Challenge

Pop Of Pink

Welcome back to my Blog...I have been MIA  these last couple of weeks trying to keep up with my children hahahaha! No Hope, so I gave up and went creating instead.

I took a swing past Pals Paper Arts to see what challenges the creative masters were throwing down! I found this sketch challenge from Sandie Conner !

I thought about what I could showcase for you all, so you could see some of the great new products available in the newly released catalogue.

I remembered the gorgeous 'Pop Of Pink' DSP that I have in-stock from my Pre-Order, along with a new stamp and thinlit bundle   I had also purchased from the Catalogue.
I took some liberties with the #PPA300 design, but tried to keep true to the format as much as possible.

#popofpink #swirlybird #thoughtfulbanners #layeringsquares #youare #PPA300 #swirlyscribbles
Using coordinating colours from the DSP I made up my card bases.
#popofpink #swirlybird #youare
I doubled the doilies so that the colour beneath didn't bleed through & the white stayed crisp and clear.
I cut 2 strips of wavy lines with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits
& also I cut out the nests using all three sizes in the thinlits.
#popofpink #swirlybird #youare
I cut out the leaves using wild wasabi & the leaves from the Swirly Scribbles thinlits & the flowers using Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo. Using both the elegant  & the bitty butterfly punches with the DSP scraps to embellish the cards.

#popofpink #swirlybird #youare
Adding the Gold Metallic Thread added some extra bling and carried through the gold from the DSP below. With the Brights Sequins Assortments adding sparkle to the centre of the small flowers. I used the largest scalloped square from the Layering Squares Framelits set + the normal square layered on top 1/2 size smaller.

#popofpink #swirlybird #youare
I actually have never used Washi tape before "WHAT" I hear you gasp! I have always been and still am little timid of it...But I think it turned out quite nicely for this card. Might try it again now, lol

#popofpink #swirlybird #youare
I had noticed some of the waste centres from the medium nests were little swirls too. And I wondered if I could use them... I used them up here as an extra detail with the sweet little bird from the Swirly Bird stamp set. For the background on this card I grabbed my Melon Mambo ink and the splatter stamp from Swirly Bird set and just inked areas where I thought it would look good.
