#PPA301 'Thank You'
A Color Challenge from Rae Harper
I thoroughly adore colour challenges & this one is just gorgeous! The challenges always make me think outside my comfort zone....because when it comes to some colour combos I tend to get a little shy!
Well today's card was a last minute decision and was made after dinner tonight 23/5!
I only just scraped in before the cut off time lol
Here is my card.
'THANK You'

I have been wanting to use the back ground stamp Watercolor Wash for quite some time and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to showcase it!

I coloured the stamp by using both Pool Party & Bermuda Bay on the stamp....overlapping the colours a little in the center of the stamp. I dabbed the stamp with a wet wipe in places before stamping very lightly onto a scrap piece of paper. I then stamped completely onto my Whisper White card stock & trimmed to required size.

When I coloured my flower I scribbled my Crushed Curry Stampin' Write marker on a large stamping block & used the Aqua Painter to pick up the colour. This enabled me to layer the colour how I wanted. I added Gold Wink of Stella to the flower centers.
I fussy cut (rather roughly) around the flowers...as I wanted the effect of being die cut. Stamped the sentiment 'THANKS' onto Crushed Curry and used the rose garden thinlits for the sentiment shape. I stamped the small 'you' onto the bottom of the background.
After layering my Bermuda Bay & Crushed Curry cardstock under the Waterwash background I thought it looked a bit plain. So I grabbed some scrap crushed curry and my Layering Squares Framelits - available in the new catty June 1st - I cut one square and trimmed the edges down and placed them at the bottom of the centerpiece. To add a little more interest I added 3 Pool Party candy dots under the sentiment 'you'.

I stamped the same flowers slightly off the page on the inside of the card and colored the petals the same as the front.
To finish my card I tied Bermuda Bay thick bakers twine around the front of the card, but in a way so that you can see the colour on the inside too.
Thank you for stopping by my Blog, I do hope you enjoyed my card tonight and hopefully found some inspiration too
