Touches Of Texture PPA314 - A Sketch by Amy Lazzell

PPA314 – A Sketch by Amy Lazzell

Hello!

welcome back to my blog

I have had a little break from creating for a while and am now ready to jump right back into the thick of things.
I was umming and ahhing a little as to what to create when I found this gorgeous sketch over at Pals Paper arts

I kept the basics of the above design for my card, just flipped it on it's side.
I had been using the gorgeous Cherry Cobbler colour earlier, so I thought I would keep with that colour & use it as a base for this design.

Well enough chit chat

Here is my card.

'Touches Of Texture'

How I made 'Touches Of Texture'

  • I cut my base card to 10.5 cm x 15 cm
  • Added a layer of Vellum stamped with the 'Gorgeous Grunge' Splatter stamp in Versa Mark and Silver embossing powder. This was adhered to the card base using my Snail Adhesive.
  • I then chose Very Vanilla to use as the top layer to display my stamping and layout.
  • For the first line going horizontally across the design I used the netting stamp from the 'Touches of Texture' set. This was inked using the colour Basic Grey. I centered it then stamped a little to the left leaving enough room for the second stamp.
  • I used the fern from 'Butterfly Basics' to lay the vertical line stamping in Pear Pizzazz.
  • I thought that the horizontal lines needed some more texture so I added a piece or Burlap ribbon. To get the effect I have used above I pulled a thread from one end holding the other end quite firmly to gather, then glued all in place using a hot glue gun.
  • I stamped the Bee from Touches of Texture and used my Stampin Write Markers to color.
  • I used the flower from Butterfly Basics for this card. To get this effect for my flower, I started by stamping in Versa Mark. Then without wiping the stamp, stamp again into Black Stazon. Dust the image quickly, using the Clear Embossing Powder. This makes the Black lines look dusty. After tapping off the excess, gently with a light tap on the back of the card with your finger nail, heat with your heat tool until all is clear again. This makes delicate items like the flower stems easier to fussy cut. It can also stop colour from spreading where you don't want it.
  • I wanted to bring the base colour to the fore again, so I used  my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write marker and Aqua Painter to colour the flowers. Layering the colour for depth. I added Clear 'Wink of Stella' to each flower petal for that little bit of zing and pizzazz.
  • I finished this card by stamping on a small piece of Vellum the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment from 'Butterfly Basics' in Versa Mark then Cherry Cobbler. Using the same method as above.
  • Using Stampin Dimensionals I placed the front onto the Vellum. To finish this pretty design I used mid size 3 Rhinestones in the top right corner of the Very Vanilla front..
