Welcome back, didn't I see you only yesterday! lol
I seem to be blogging quite a bit this last few days....Now the children are nearly back at school and most of their school holiday activities are winding down, I am finding time to get some creating accomplished..
Go me :)
Go me :)
Ok! Today's project was created with Global Design Project's layout in mind + trying to promote SALE-A-BRATION too.
I haven't participated in a GDP challenge for quite a number of weeks and have been missing it.
This is there challenge
We have been challenged to CASE the designer Krista Frattin
For my project I kept the stitched shape for the focal and as I had been using Brights in my last project, I kept to the theme by using Bermuda Bay which is part of the brights card stock pack.
Here is my CASE of Krista's card
A TEENY TINY NOTE
Front View
For my project I used the new lace doilies from the 'Falling For You' suite, but I inked them black with a sponge!!
I coloured a small corner from a sheet of 'Inside The Lines' DSP using the new 'Water Colour Pencils' and an 'Aqua Painter'
You can earn the INSIDE THE LINES DSP for Free during Sale-A-Bration just by spending $90.00!
I cut a Basic Black square frame using the 2 largest 'Stitched Shapes' framelits and attached it to the front of the coloured square.
The black square that was left from making my frame was used to back an embossed piece of Whisper White card stock that I had embossed using the 'Falling Petals' embossing folder. I was inspired for this idea from a project I saw from Megan Lenske She cut a small piece from an embossed sheet and used on her card project....Click her name to see her blog.
I coloured the hearts with the Bermuda Bay water colour pencil to match the backing card stock.
For the background I used the splatter stamp from the 'Gorgeous Grunge' stamp set.
Using 2 of the exact same DSP sheets, I fussy cut 2 bumble bees to use as embellishments for inside and front of my card.
I layered all my pieces using dimensionals and glue dots.
Close up of Detail and Colouring
Aren't these water colour pencils just so divine to use....so full of vibrant colour that you can build up and on, again and again AND you can add different colours in the mix too!
I added some sparkle and dimension to the bumble bees wings with Clear Wink Of Stella.
Side View
Some other embellishments I used to add interest to the front was a piece of Washi Tape from the Pop Of Pink Collection in the Annual Catalogue. A piece of Thick Bakers Twine in Whisper White folded to make three loops and tucked under the largest frame.
I added gold Metallic Enamel Shapes for a splash more yellow to help break the Bermuda Bay up some more.
The sentiment is from the 'Sealed With Love' stamp set. I backed this with scrunched Basic Black Metallic Thread.

The inside image was stamped using the Avant Garde stamp set which is another SALE-A-BRATION item that you can earn Free... just by spending $90.00 from now til the 31st March.
The ink colours used were Basic Black and Bermudas Bay.

Oh Kim, I adore your card! The combo of Bermuda Bay and black is so striking. I love all your elements, especially the inked doily and how you've arranged them all. Thank you for the link xx
ReplyDeleteHi Megan , thanks for stopping by :) The little circle you placed on your card just got me so inspired...that is what I basically built my card around :)
DeleteGorgeous colours Kim - this combination is very sophisticated. Love how you in the ink up the doily too. Beautiful colouring and framing of the dsp. :) xo
