Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Retiring Products

Image may contain: text

Welcome to the very first Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop.
This hop will be the held on 3rd Thursday of every month.
You are currently visiting me Kim Oliver from Australia.
I hope you enjoy my project today showcasing 'Retiring Products'

It's always a sad occasion saying good bye to some of the gorgeous and loved catalogue items 😢

BUT Please don't be sad.
We all get to play with the new products that are being released in the Annual Stampin' Up!® catalogue in June!
Now that always makes me smile, how about you?

I am saying goodbye today to two favourite Stamps sets.
One stamp set belongs to the Fruit Stand Suite which and the other is the Gorgeous Grunge background bits.

Here is my card
This card design is great for #Loveitchopit and is perfect for using up your retired DSP.

Strawberry Delights

For this card I used the double sided fresh Strawberry DSP from the retiring Fruit Stand Suite.
I used one side (the striped) for the background and the opposite (the strawberries) for the matted images.
The card base is Real Red card stock (still available) and the background stripes has a layer of vellum (also still available) over the top. This helped tone down the red just a little.

For added interest and texture I have embossed the splatter from Gorgeous Grunge in gold.
The sentiment is from the Fresh Fruit stamp set and has been double stamped once in real red and then embossed in clear. I then again stamped over this in clear embossing ink and sprinkled with gold embossing powder. I made sure I off set the second layer so that the red ink peeps through just a fraction.

Here is the card just on a slightly different angle, so you can really see the gold shine a whole lot better.

For the inside layer I added a piece of thick whisper white and cut two thin strips of the DSP top and bottom to carry the  strawberry theme through. This also left a clean area to write a personal message.

Please click the name after mine to continue through the hop. Or if you are at the end, then I do hope you have enjoyed my project and everyone elses too.
