Hello Friend - Wood Words - #GDP090

Welcome back crafty people 😊

#KOCreationscards #hellofriend #GDP090 #chooksandroosters #countryliving #stampinup #rubberstamping #woodwords

I was going through some of my stamp sets this morning...New ones and carry over ones too.
Just admiring the diversity that is Stampin' Up!® while mulling a card idea that I wanted to design for a friend that hasn't been very well of late.

This gorgeous friend of mine loves her chooks, quite alot actually! She feeds them warm porridge and yoghurt on cold frosty mornings 😂 I have chooks also and I enjoy them immensley (otherwise I wouldn't keep them)  I have over 30 actually 😅 but I certainly don't feed them warm porridge hahahaha, anywho I digress.
I came across this little rooster image in the Wood Words stamp set

And then I found the sketch challenge over at Global Design Project that the team has put together for us.

It's a bit cute this design, isn't it!?!

So I put both the stamp set and the sketch design together and this is what I came up with.

Hello Friend

I am quite happy with how this turned out.
And I also know thet my friend will love it too.

Method

  1. Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake  card stocks.Cut all card stock to desired size. Eyeball it 'til happy (sorry I never measure)
  2. Ink up the Hexagon dynamic TIEF and lay trimmed card stock over the top. Gently rub with finger tips, remove. Repeat this step if you would like the double layer effect.
  3. Sand gently with fine sand paper.
  4. Using the floral images and Craft White ink stamp in top left corner over the hexagons. Dust with White Emboss powder and heat 'til puffed and glossy.
  5. Die cut the smallest Sweet and Sassy Heart in Crumb Cake and ink it in Craft white, let dry.
  6. Ink the rooster image in Cherry Cobbler and apply to the dry white heart.
  7. Cut an Early Espresso heart in the next size.
  8. Die Cut the third size up of the Stitched Shapes circle in Cherry Cobbler
  9. Layer some Copper Trim under the between the two hearts and glue in place.
  10. Apply this to the Stiched Shape circle using dimensionals to finish the focal.
  11. Cut the Burlap Ribbon and the Copper Trim to desired length and adhere with glue dots.
  12. Apply your focal over the top of the trim.
  13. Stamp the sentiment in White craft ink and dust with white embossing powder. Heat then trim to desired length. Apply this to the focal area with dimensionals.
