Floral Statements
I simply adore this set
The reason I think I like this set so much is it's got so much versatility. You don't have to just stamp it and add a ribbon. Although this is so very effective, as the catalogue shows.
I also used the 'Lovely Words' thinlits set from page 157 of the annual catalogue. I love that thinlits set so much! You can do almost anything with it! Cards, Memory Making, Gift Tags you name it!
Here is my project
Hello Friend

I have used a version of the spotlight technique for my card.
I made this card for two reasons.
- Was for this Design Team Ink It! Stamp It! Blog Hop. I thought it was very appropriate as LOADS of ink has been used here lol
- Was for a sample card for my teams benefit.
But enough about my team hahaha
I am sure you would like to know more about how I made my card.

A quick run down on how I created this card.
For this card my card base is thick Whisper White layered with Basic Black.
I stamped my image onto a piece of thick Whisper White then water coloured using Tempting Turquoise for the flowers and Lemon Lime Twist for the leaves.
The colouring was done in 3 stages, first I applied a layer to the shadows and then washed a small amoint of colour over the top.
I then waited for it to dry and re-applied the colour in the same manner as the first layer.
When the second layer was dry I used my Stampin' Write markers to add more depth to the shadow area and highlighted the lighter areas using the White craft refill. I placed a small drip of white onto a clear block and then picked it up and applied using a damp aqua painter.
*When trying this technique I find it handy to have a tissue on hand to help keep the aqua painter damp but not wet!
When all of the colouring were dry, I used two layering circle framelits. The smallest I cut from the stamped image. The largest I cut form the basic black layer. I glued the together.
You can see the word 'FRIEND' has been placed over the top. For this I used the 'Lovely Words' thinlits set and cut 'Friends' from it's original oval shape.
I cut the 'FRIEND' word 3 times in Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise and Silver. I glued these all together slightly off setting them so as to see a slight egde of each colour. I cut 3 small banners from matching pieces from the friends word left overs and popped that under the layered circle.
Using a black pen I drew a rough rectangle around the word 'HELLO' and then added little corner accents.
Using the foam adhesive strips, I placed the circle back in position over the word 'HELLO'.
