The joy's of Creating :-) - This Christmas - #CTC003

The Joy's of Creating

This Christmas

CASEing Juana Ambida's card

Have you ever made a card & had absolutely NO PLAN of just how or what you were going to do to pull it off!
OR
Have you ever lost something in your creative space!

Sometimes creating with out a plan works a treat & everything just flows, when that happens 'Ooooh' the feeling is so very wonderful :-)

BUT

When I am looking at Juan's card, the card that I am to CASE my mind just goes BLANK.
I don't have this set or that set, nor that DSP paper hahaha & to top it off I can't find my Pretty Pine thinlits!
I only saw it yesterday gosh darn it!
I remember sitting it on top of something, hmmm!?!

OK time to put my BIG GIRL PANTS ON!

This Christmas

I grabbed every Christmas set I had.....then put them all back lol.
Gosh what is wrong with me...I am, distracted....
I only needed to pull just 1 or 2 elements from Juana's card to CASE it with.
Get a grip woman!
Ok what does it have....A piece of string....Loads of Christmas sentiments, patterned DSP Paper, Contrasting top & pretty pines die cuts using THINLITS...
Aaaaargh THINLITS

Well that just darn well reminds me all over AGAIN
! WHERE is THAT thinlits set of mine!

Sooooooo I end up pulling my craft room apart.......this is instead of what I am supposed to be doing.
Ah ha! Eureka! I found some die cuts I had previously cut from the set....BUT STILL NO THINLITS....
much
SADNESS

Still I have the Pine Bough embossing folder & the stamp set!
It WILL turn up....
I try to console myself....
sniff :'(

Ok back to creating....Grabbing the gorgeous 'This Christmas' DSP.. I found an idea had started to bloom in my head.
I reached for my Pine Bough embossing Folder & a Window Sheet.

Oh My
I loved the effect!!!

The idea was in full flower now!

I grabbed those die cuts I had found earlier (during the demolishing search of my room) & heat embossed them in silver.
I cut and folded some Very Vanilla card stock for my base....Looking at the DSP I had chosen I grabbed some Garden Green & some Black card stock also.
I started layering them all.
Embossed Window Sheet attached with Tear & Tape & a spot of glue along the top only under the gathered Music sheet, reverse side of the main DSP. Then onto the main DSP, straight onto Black, then onto Garden Green with dimesnionals & then straight onto Very Vanilla.
Hmmmm needed something
Black twine and a silver embellishment!....nope something else......Snow flakes!
Flurry of wishes makes an appearance.
I heat embossed the littlest flakes onto black card stock and punched them out.

Okay I think I am happy with it now..

Oops forgot something!
Must have rhinestones to finish the snow flakes :-)
& I never forget to carry the theme to the inside of the card!

Aaaaaah
Perfect!

AND
No I still haven't found my Pretty Pines Thinlit dies !

:'(

#GDP050 | Sketch Challenge

Sneak Peek for the 'Holiday Catalogue'

 HAPPY CHRISTMAS

Did I hear a very loud Groooaan!?! hahahaha....

Yes it will soon be that time of year again....Normally I am one of the most un-organised people for THAT time of year ... I  end up rushing around, trying to fit everything in at the last minute..Not this year  (I hope)

So to start my early preparations for this year, I decided I would make some Christmas cards ready to send to family & friends.
I found my inspiration for this set of Christmas themed cards from the Global Design Project

Using the cute design sketch below

I only made 3 cards for the set! But, because like any good design sketch, it is adaptive to every conceivable stamp set & ephemera, the possibilities for more are boundless.

I tried to remain true to the sketch. I kept the greeting to the top left (mostly) and added some detail underneath with an element of focus off to the right.

The Sneak Peek Element

I used a little something on each card from the new 'Holiday Catalogue'

which all customers can order from, on the 1 September 2016

Being a SU demonstrator I was able to pre-order items to help give you all a bit of a sneak peek & some inspiration as to what you can create.

& I can only show you the front of the catalogue atm though, sorry.

But isn't the cover full of gorgeous ideas!

OK

Here is my first card

For my second card I used a stamp set from the catalogue.

I love how this design sketch can be left almost empty and still be full of detail. Those Fancy Frost sequins really helped this card pop that little bit extra.

Don't you just love those pine branches and cones, I know I do :-)

And for my 3rd card

#Christmaspines #Flurryofwishes #Fancyfrostsequins #KOCreationscards #Embossing #Seasonalbells #FancyfrostDSP

I think this one is my fave, but that's probably because it was the last one I made lol.
I do like how the white embossed specialty DSP helps add texture and also becomes a focal interest too.

And a family photo all sitting together hehe :-)

I hope you enjoy these cards as much as I enjoyed creating them x

These cards have all been layered using Stampin' Dimensionals between each layer. The Focals were added using a mixture of glue and dimensionals. I used the Copper embossing powder over Cherry Cobbler for the bells and the Silver embossing powder for the snow flakes over Whisper White & Cherry Cobbler. Both Cherry Cobbler & Crumb Cake card stock has been used along with Whisper White Specialty DSP.

Thank you for stopping in and visiting.
Please, call back soon.
