Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Julie Davisdon

Hi all :)
Welcome to our Blog Hop.
This week we are Hopping with Julie Davison.

I was pouring through Julie's Blog and come across this card (below) almost straight away! And as I am sooooo in love with the Paisley's right now, I knew I just HAD to create my own version of this Peekaboo card.

AND

 HERE IT IS!

Paisley Love!

#Paisleysandposies   #Petalsandpaisleysdsp #Paisleysframelits #KOCreationscards #Stampinup #Handmade

For this card it was easier to show a picture and then try to explain the instructions.

The red card base picture came from www.frommycraftroom.blogspot.com.au
When scored and folded it all fits together to look like this.  I couldn't find a name or blog for this picture, sorry.

BASIC INSTRUCTIONS AND *TIPS:

  •  You will require 3 pieces of Card stock in your chosen colour, cut to the measurements in the picture above.
Then score them as follows:
  1. The inside/middle card is scored @ exactly half way.
  2. The front is scored @ 7.5 cm.
  3. The back is scored @ 1.cm, this is used as a hinge to attach to the inside/middle card.
  • You will need three pieces of DSP or your own designed background papers. All cut to fit how ever you desire, either with edges or not. I have edge of my copper layer and my Rich Razzleberry card base showing.
  • When you have all of your pieces, *mark the front of your card in at 1 cm from the opening edge down the length of the card.....then *mark at 6.5 cm in from your first mark.
TIP * Your window has to be inside those two marks, so that the movable card stock shows no edges inside the window frames etc.
  • Attach you DSP to your card bases.
*If using layers (like me) PLEASE don't put your layers together until all windows have been cut! I tried this and found that it was too much for the big shot and squished my papers out of shape. use steps below . I ruined a crap load of paper from trying to put my layers together and onto my card bases!
  1. Cut your first window from your front piece of DSP.
  2. Then laying your DSP over the top and holding in place with a tiny bit of adhesive snail, draw with a pencil around the inside marking where you will make the next window, precisely!
*I found that having a border around your windows really helps to give the card a more finished look.
  • If stamping your images for the windows, place your card pieces under the back page in their positions. Stamp straight through the window, that way you know it will be EXACTLY where you want it to be.
  • Put all of your pieces together and voila! You have your peekaboo card

  • The windows for my peekaboo card have been cut using the Paisley Framelits.
  • The DSP I chose is from the Petals and Pailseys DSP  in Rich Razzleberry and Very Vanilla with Copper dots.
  • I cut 3 small strips of the Rich Razzlebrry DSP and left just enough room for a strip of tear and tape to join that DSP to the Copper dots DSP.
  • I layered these onto a pre-cut copper foil sheet.
  • You can see that for the first set inside my windows, I have heat embossed using the White embossing powder, straight onto the Rich Razzleberry.

  • And here for the second set of I have used a die cut copper sheet from the Paisley Framelits set and the Copper embossing powder.
  • To finish this card I added a long piece of Very Vanilla ribbon tied with a bow. This bow wraps around the inside of the card too, as you can see above.
  •  I also added my sentiment and a die cut copper shape with Metallic thread in copper..

This wonderful event that has been organised by Kylie Bertucci

I had my BBB delivered during the week and inside was something I have been patiently waiting for.

Insert HUGE grin here!

Most (when I say most I mean all lol) of the products used today are from the current Holiday Catalogue & the Current Annual catalogue, both of which you can view in the tabs at the top of my page, under the large banner.

I designed today's cards thinking about the people who have helped me get to where I am today.
I wouldn't be here if not for them :-)
Thank you x

Because of this I am entering these into GDP RAK challenge this week #GDP055

PETALS, PAISLEYS AND POSIES

#Paisleysandposies   #Petalsandpaisleysdsp #Paisleysframelits #KOCreationscards #Stampinup #Handmade #Worldcardmakingday #WCMD2016

I used layers as the building blocks for these two cards.
I started with a thick Whisper White card base cut to 10.5 x 15 cm then built my layers according to the colours in my Paisley designs.
I stamped the Paisleys using the Paisley and Posies Stamp set, then die cut them with the Paisleys Framelits. All currently available in the Holiday Catalogue.
The main recessed paisleys have been stamped in versamark before inking the stamps with colour. I used clear embossing powder over the top and then my heat tool to seal it all. This made the colouring of the Paisleys a little easier, less chance of colour escaping into unwanted areas.
I used a length of ribbon on each card from the matching Petals and Paisleys Ribbon Trio Pack to add some textural elements.

The very last layer is Whisper White, this has been attached using Stampin' Dimensionals for added depth. Both of the stamped and die cut paisleys on each card were adhered straight onto the Petals and Paisleys DSP underneath, so that the Paisleys are recessed.
The little rosette has been placed using Stampin Dimensionals and topped with a Crushed Curry enamel shape from the Regals pack. Each card has a small die cut copper accent added under the rosette, just to give them a little added shine and interest  :-)
The colours used in each card were Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaron and Night of Navy.

As you can see, I carried my theme through to the inside of both cards.
Still leaving plenty of room to write a personal message.

I hope you enjoyed my cards for
