A Summer Time Butterfly Posy - #CI19

Image may contain: text

Welcome back everyone 😊
I am so happy you have decided to stop by my blog for a visit today.
I have been trying to use up some scraps that I have created over the last few weeks

So I decided I would create for Colour Inkspiration today.

I have been super busy these last few weeks with school holidays and then creating flat out once they went back to school.
Sometimes getting work done with the bairns at home isn't all that successful hahaha.
So I am just fitting this card in by the skin of my teeth 😅 .
I am creating a video for a International blog hop tomorrow and now must also go and prepare my pieces for that.

The colours for this challenge are as follows.
Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Basic Grey, Smoky Slate and Garden Green.

These colours just scream Spring and Summer to me 😊
And summer means Butterflies and flowers where I live
(I live in a very temperate climate)

Butterfly Posy

I pulled out some all time favourites stamp sets for this card, Watercolour Wings and Butterfly Basics!
My card base is Thick Whisper White with a layer of Basic Gray under the card front.
The back ground of my card came from some stamping off I was doing for another card.
The medallion was from my play with the Eastern Palace when I first purchased it.
I punched the flowers from some scrap Daffodil Delight using the blossom builder punch.
The little fine pieces of white are the trimmings from my card lol.
I love how delicate they look, don't you?.

Angled View

Cards using Bokeh effect Backgrounds.

Welcome back to my blog

Today I am sharing with you something I tried for the first time yesterday.
It is the Bokeh Effect. Something used by photographers regularly and can be achieved with ink on paper by layering colours and circles.
I have made a little tutorial for you , so you can also try this if you are feeling inspired.
As I have made a tutorial I haven't added much in the way of descriptions.

I have entered one of these cards in to Jessie Holtons #CTC008 weekly challenge
(Orange colours 'Happy Birthday')

Here is a group shot of all the cards I made using my Bokeh backgrounds

#Bokeheffect #Inspiredbynature #KOCreationscards #Helpingmegrow #Watercolorbutterflys #Helloyouthinlits  #Fabulousfoil

I used two different colour tones for each Bokeh effect and used those same colours for the cards bases and layers.

'Hello You'

Sending Smiles Part 2 #Frommetoyouwhenyouarefeelingblu

Sending Smiles

Part 2

Continuing on from my last blog for Global Design Project's entry #GDP039 's 'Get Well Soon' theme I have made 2 more cards for another entry as well.

But these cards have a dual purpose!

A lovely young lady Petra Tailor, who is part of a group that I also belong to, would like to start a mini movement of sorts for the month of July....And I am with her...It is to try and help those that we know who are feeling low, depressed or just in need of a friend, know that they are loved and cared about by sending a card.
Petra say's it perfectly!
'In this digital age, we send texts, but do you remember how lovely it is to receive something in the mail that isn't a bill!?! To know that someone cares enough to let you know they are there for you, with an encouraging sentence or two. It's something that you can keep forever and never forget......It is beautiful'

So if you are interested in joining the movement by helping a friend in July, Make a card and send it to a friend...If you like the idea, like me, post about it to get others involved in the month of July with the hashtag #Frommetoyouwhenyouarefeelingblu

Here are my cards

#frommetoyouwhenyouarefeelingblu #Numberofyears #Timelesstextures #Watercolorwings #KOCreationscards #Greatestgreetings #GDP039

For these cards I used a number of current stamp sets stamped onto Whisper white. Timeless Textures was stamped first in Basic Grey. I then stamped the leaves from the  Number of Years set in Pear Pizzazz.  Also from the Number of years set I stamped the different small flowers in Watermelon Wonder, Crushed Curry & Bermuda Bay.

For the butterflies I used the Water Color Wings and stamped them in Crushed Curry first, then Watermelon Wonder and finished with the Basic Black...stamping off the paper first before stamping the image.

I used the Layering Squares framelit for one sentiment, both sentiments have been stamped onto whisper white in Basic Grey using the Greatest Greeting stamp set. Then layered onto Basic Grey card stock.

Before putting my card fronts onto the Basic Grey backings I distressed the edges with a file. I added a thread pulled from my Burlap ribbon under the butterflies after they had been die cut using the Bold Butterflies thinlits. They were then raised onto dimensionals.
I made the inside of the cards to match the fronts with a bit more space left clear, for a personal message.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and please feel free to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) anything you like.

Paper Pals PPA297 – A Color Challenge from Jackie Diediker

Paper Pals Challenge PPA297- A color Challenge from Jackie Diediker

Hi again, wow I didn't realize there was so many craft showcases & challenges out there!
It's really amazing!

I have found another bunch of talented people sharing gorgeous creations and challenges. This group are called Paper Pals

      Pals Paper Arts

This weeks color challenge is from  Jackie Diediker

This bunch of colors is not a grouping I would normally put together of my own accord, so this really was a challenge! On their own they are gorgeous, but I wasn't sure how I was going to really make them work together.
I thunk and thunk and then I thunk some more....
&
This is what I came up with.
I am really pleased with it too!

'Little Moments'

#Watercolorwings #Timelesstextures #KOCreations #PPA297

How I made 'Little Moments'

  • I sponged Daffodil Delight onto Whisper White cardstock  12cm x 9cm very lightly & then sponged whisper white over the top to whiten some patches. I then used a mask and sponged again with Daffodil Delight. To finish I grabbed my flourish from the Timeless Textures stamp set and stamped off then on the Daffodil Delight with Wisteria Wonder all around the edges in a random pattern.
  • The on another piece of Whisper White 16.5 cm x 11.5cm, I used the same flourish with Daffodil Delight and the same technique...stamping off onto a scrap page then onto my background in a random manner.
  • I lightly sponged a paper doily with Pool Party and cut it in half.
  • Using the large butterfly from Watercolor Wings I stamped onto whisper white with Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder.
  • I cut a piece Wisteria Wonder cardstock 12.2cm x 9.2cm and placed the layered stamping cardstock onto it.
  • Placing the cut doily onto each corner, I used the snail adhesive to hold it in place.
  • I grabbed a leftover piece of vellum and stamped the gorgeous sentiment on to it and cut to fit the top of the card front. I stuck the vellum by using the snail adhesive on the very edge.
  • I then placed the butterfly over the top and embellished it with lovely flower. I added small Rhinestone Basic Jewels randomly over the rest of the card front.
  • I finished the whole card by adding Wisteria Wonder as the card base and by carrying some of the Daffodil Delight flourish to the inside of my card.
