Thanks for coming to my blog today!

My name is Kim Oliver. I live in the smallest state of Australia, Tasmania.

We are being highlighted internationally by Kylie Bertucci on her blog and you are able to VOTE for my project.
The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop so would LOVE it if you could please vote for my project.
You can do that here - http://bit.ly/KyliesFebHighlights

Our theme for this highlight is Get Well soon - What a wonderful way to cheer someone up when they are feeling down.

For my card I chose colours that reminded me of a warm summery day by the water.

INKS: Marina Mist, Soft Sky, Peekaboo Peach and Soft Suede + Marina Mist Stampin Write Marker
CARD STOCK:Thick Whisper White and Marina Mist
TOOLS: Big Shot, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layering Square Framelits, Aqua Painter, Clear Blocks, Window Sheet and Sponges.

I made my little scene by using the reflection technique.
Technique: stamping main images onto a window sheet then turning upside down and pressing image onto card stock.

After I had completed that I cut the image to size using the Layering Squares framelits and created layers using a stitched shape in Whisper White and a scalloped square in Marina Mist.
I backed the focal with a piece of folded burlap ribbon, which is being held in place with a staple.

For my background I stamped the sentiment repeatedly in Soft Sky. Then Marina Mist was added over the top by running the marker on the underside of the larger lettering on the stamp and then stamping directly over the Soft Sky....Don't forget to huff on the ink before stamping!

Thanks for visiting my blog today make sure you head over to Kylie's blog - http://bit.ly/KyliesFebHighlights to vote for my project.

I would love to be chosen to do an international blog hop :)

Thanks again and enjoy your day xx

  1. Love the colors you chose here and the focal image is stamped so nicely - I like how you combined the images in the set to create your scene. I can imagine dragging my beach chair down to the water to relax and read a good book!
