You have joined me from Jacque Williams blog Stamp Happy, 😊

Here is the Challenge Palette for #CI47

Shaded Spruce, Blueberry Bushel. Crumb Cake, Powder Pink.

You must use all 5 of these gorgeous colours for this challenge, plus you can add to your design any of  these colours (White, Black or Very Vanilla) or any of the Metallics.

Here is my project for the #CI47 challenge

I have used the 'Hedgehugs' for my card project today. The technique for the background is called smooshing. I placed ink onto two stamping blocks and then lightly misted them with water, once  wet I smooshed the inked blocks ontp my background paper.
My focal area has been stamped and then cut using the stitched shapes thinlits. I have also stamped and fussy cut the cute little hedgehog then layered him with dimensionals.

Here is a close up of the focal area.

To make my rhinestones green I used the dark Shaded Spruce Alcohol Marker and coloured the clear rhinestones.

I do hope you have enjoyed my card created using this colour challenge #CI46 and that you have been inspired to try it our for yourself. I can't wait to see all of your gorgeous projects being shared over at the Colour INKspirations Challenges page on FB.

All items that I have used for this project have been listed in the carousel at the end of this post, with each picture linking to it's purchase point.

Stamping Sunday - Fave Holiday Catalogue Product and How To Step Up Your Cards

Hello everyone 😊
and
Welcome to the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop (Second Sunday) hosted by Sara Levin.

You are currently here with Kim Oliver - KO Creations Cards - Australia. I have a list of hop participants closer to the end of this post.

Today the Design Team are creating with our favourite sets from the Holiday Catalogue. I have chosen the 'Making Christmas Bright' bundle and thought I would share with you how simple it is to STEP UP a card from simple to more extravagant but still keeping the same feel.

Here are my projects for today's hop.
I have created 3 Christmas cards, each card has been stepped up just a small fraction from the one before.

May Your Christmas Be Bright

From right to left we have the the original simpler style card, with the middle card being slightly more involved and finally the 3rd card having had added slightly details, each new item that has been added brings something different to the original design.

The Original card

Basic techniques for the beginner

Here I have layered the Brights Designer Series Paper with matching card stock and then topped it with whisper white stamped image topper. The stamping is straight forward with the eye being drawn to the addition of the coloured and punched Christmas globe.
The technique for stamping the word Bright is called 'Shadow Technique' and is a wonderful affect to teach beginners along with basic layering skills. Basic 'Alcohol Colouring' techniques have been used for the Christmas globe. There are no lines to stay inside and showcases perfectly how to use the colour lifter and blending abilities of these markers.

The Second card

Stepped up for the casual crafter

Using all of the same items and techniques from the first card we have managed to step up this card just by adding dimension and bling. By placing the sentiment of a piece of coloured card shaped with paper snips  this has given the card extra dimension and focal interest plus adding a little bling with the addition of rhinestones helps draw the eye back to the original focal area..

The Third Card

Stepped Up for the avid crafter

To give this card the helping hand it needed to punch above it's starting weight we first changed the colour up 😊 then we have added the gorgeous matching Poppy Parade ribbon as a side trim and to finish we have added a touch more colour by extending the light string and by colouring the rhinestones with the matching Alcohol Markers again keeps the eye drawn to the original focal area.

All of these little extra add ons are subtle differences side by side. But each step appeals to different people and different levels of crafting abilities or needs.

Thank you so very much for joining me today.
