Color Theory - Bring On the Snow

 Welcome back everyone 😊

O do apologise for the delay in bringing you this post, but unfortunatley I have ahd a few ill peeps. We have one after the the all come down with a nasty head cold 😷

Me, of course while being healthy looking after everyone else, have finally caught it. 

But no good complaining, in a couple of days I will be right as rain 😉

So you might remember around a week ago I shared some projects using the Color Theory Suite duirng a Stampin Sunday Blog Hop. If you don't, no worries,  you can find that post HERE.

I promised to share another card from this set pictured below.

Can you see the little desk calander with this set. It has interchangable pictures to sit each season! I used teh Color Theory Memories and More pack to create this with.

Well I chose to share with you the WINTER themed card.

As it is winter here where I live (Tasmania) and at the moment bitterly cold too. 

We do occasionally get a few flurries of snow here where we live, but mostly it stays up in the surrounding mountains.

Bring On The Snow with Desk Calender

Method.

1. Fold a whisper white A4 sheet in half and cut at 10.5 cm. Trim a 1/4 A4 black card stock down so that there is a 4mm edge showing. Then trim a piece of Color theory DSP (I used 'Dapper Denim') ombre sheet down, so that there is only a 1 mm edge all around.
2. Using the woodlands embossing folder run through with the Denim ombre coloured DSP.
3. Dust the whole front with embossing buddy, be generous, don't skimp!
4. Grab the versamark and gently without pressing rub over the front of the embossed paper.
5. Using a spoon sprinkle some silver embosssing powder over the tree trunks
6. Tap off excess and rfemove any in areas you don't require it. 
7. Heat with your heat until puffed and shiny.
8. Adhere to the Basic Black layer using Multipurpose Glue.
9. Using the layering ovals (the largest scalloped and the second largest plain oval) Cut  a piece of Dapper Denim using the scalloped oval. With the plain oval grav a snow themed sheet fromt he Memories and More pack and run this through the big shot also.
10. Glue together.
11. You will find in the Color Theory DSP some crackled design sheets. Grab one sheet and the snow flakes thinlits from the Season Layers thinlits. Create 3. 
12. Arrange as desired around the focal oval area. Place a co-ordinating glitter enamel dot in the centre. Mount them with glue dots.
13. Arrange a few more glitter dots where desired and mount the whole thing onto the whisper white card base.

Today I will share some details of the Summer themed card and I will go into more details for the other 2 over the next few days.

The card base for this card is Thick Whipser White card stock and Old Olive card stock as contrasting layers.

I created this card by using 2 different summer themed cards from the Memories and More card pack. The back card represents the sun, while the front represents for me the relaxing and enjoyment of this warmth and life in general.

The word HAPPY with the coloured horizontal stripes on the focal area of the card is actually a clear acetate overlay.

The little sentiment 'Love This Life Of Mine' has been taken from one of the two sheets of stickers that are also included in the Memories and More cardpack. These stickers are not flimsy little paper ones, but thick sturdy card stock! So you can mount them as they are onto dimensionals, as I have done above.

I added a tiny deconstructed strip of burlap ribbon to help give a beachy feel to my summer images.

There are 4 of the acetate sheets as part of the Memories and More card pack, each one a slightly different overlay design that represents a season, and they can be mixed and matched to help create themes with. There are also 2 sheets of stickers. Therse stickers are of high quality thick card stock and match perfectly the card designs.

The little calender is so simple to create. Just fold an A4 sheet in half and then trim to fit the small Memories and More cards. Score the front of the card base across the middle, around the half way point. Decorate calender as you would like, then adhere it to the bottom are of the card base.. Arrange your Memories and More cards in the order you prefer and punch 2 holes to tie the copper trim through the top of the cards. Don't tie it too tight. This lets them flip over so you can change the picture as needed.
When completed, Pop up and display 😊

Color Theory Words - #GDP089

I was just perusing through this weeks Global Design Project entries (in my jammies mind you) and having a look at all of the gorgeous designs when I suddenly realised this weeks challenge finishes today AND I hadn't entered!!!

OMG

That made me get moving that's for sure.

SO....I hastily showered and got cracking in my craft studio.

Here is the colour challenge they are using this week.

Hmmm what was I to create..I have so many gorgeous new stamp sets and dies to choose from...

Ahhh, an idea was beginning to form. 

I grabbed my 'Color Theory' DSP and the 'Colourful Seasons' dies plus the 'Lovely Words' thinlits

I then spent 10 minutes just looking at them and planning how I was going to put them together.

This is what I came up with.

METHOD

1. Cut a sheet Basic Black card stock to size,
2.  A4 folded in half then trimmed at 10.5 cm
3. Trim a piece of 'Old Olive' 'Colour Theory' DSP down to size so you have a 2mm edge. 
4. Cut the 'Lovely Word' from the 'Old Olive' DSP.
5. Using a spritzer and an aqua painter water colour wash with 'Calypso Coral' on a whisper white piece of card stock. To get the swiped effect don't use too much water! 
6. Heat Dry.
7. Die cut the large (normal) Sweet and Sassy heart from it and the flowers from the Colorful Seasons thinlits.
8. Using basic black cut another Lovely Word and the branch from the Colorful Seasons.
9. I added 3 glitter enamel dots just for a little extra interest.
10. Clear Wink of Stella was aded to the cherry blossoms.
11. Glue all pieces in place with multi purpose glue (TomBow) then adhere the front to the Basic Black card base.

For the inside I stamped the small branch and flowers in Calypso Coral onto whisper white. I backed this with a sheet of Old Olive Color Theory DSP with TomBow glue. I then adhered this to the inside with Tear and Tape.

Crazy Crafters Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek - Colour Theory

 Berry Burst from the wonderful NEW 6 x 6 Color Theory Designer Series Paper stack..

I have paired that with the stunningly delicious Lemon Lime Twist which is the second NEW in colour.

METHOD

To make my card front using crackled DSP, I first glued thick Whisper White to the back of it. 

I then trimmed it to size. I used my Stitched Shapes Framleits to cut out my side focal window onto the edge, but making sure I had the Whisper White side facing up. 

This way the stitches were visible on the white side where needed 😉

I then nested a layering Oval with the Stiched shape oval and cut a Berry Burst frame for my focal area. I glued this into place and then trimmed off the excess.

I punched two daisies using thick whisper white. I then daubed my colour onto the flowers. I have made a little video showing the flower colouring technique HERE

I stamped the leaves onto the white side of the oval in Lemon Lime Twist and added my daisy.

I adhered my card front onto the card base using dimensionals. 

I then glued the oval stamped images and the flower into place straight onto the card base.

3. My card base is Old Olive  card stock (106576) folded in half and cut at 10.5cm.
4. I have used another NEW PRODUCT the Mini Chevron ribbon in co-ordinating Old Olive (144196)

On a side note, I am currently playing with a new watermark (above) compared to the old one (below) I would love some feedback if you can spare some time...TIA
