Ink It! Stamp It! - Technique

Today we are focusing our energies on techniques.

Techniques are what all paper crafters use to creat their gorgeous projects with.
My technique today is repeat stamping.
 Repeat stamping can be as simple as stamping an image in the same colour as your card stock to give a textured look or as complex as creating your own Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I have chosen to create my own DSP to aid my creating of a card and gift box set. I have a video further down on this post of the basic box directions from Pootles (Sam) This is where I got the directions from.

The next 3 photo's show the steps I used to create my own DSP for the milk carton lid.

The stamp set I used is called Lovely Wishes and is a two step stamp set.

The colour I used are Basic Black (retiring), Berry Burst and Garden Green

Step 1

Stamp the images in your desired pattern.
If you aren't confident doing this the Stamparatus is a wonderful tool to aid positioning of your stamps and paper.
For me I just stamped my first image one way, turned my stamp around and stamped it as close to the first image as possible then repeated.

Step 2

This step is part two of the two step stamp being put into use. 

Using Garden green I stamped the colours in the leaves.

I deliberately made sure that the colour could be seen by stamping twice, once int he image and again periodically outside the image.

Step 3

For the last and final step (which is stall part 2 of the two step stamp set) I added the Berry Burst colour to the flower heads.

SDBH - Favourite DSP - Myths and Magic

Hello everyone and welcome once again to my blog 😊

I am participating today with the Stampin' Dreams blog hop team.

We are showcasing our favourite Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I created last month a gift set for boys using the same DSP . I made this set so my son has cards available for his friends as their birthdays arise during the year.

Thinking along the same lines I decided it was only fair that my daughter has the same sort of thing on hand for her friends.

Here is my Project.

VERY Basic instructions

• I started by measuring the pieces I would need to cover my pizza box with, I made the covers 4mm smaller than the made up pizza box sides and top/bottom. 
• I then made my note cards 3"x 3"  (7.7cm x 7.7cm)  and a cover layer for them  1/8" (4mm) 
• The vellum layers are also 1/8" (4mm) smaller than the DSP card covers.
• I stuck my layers to the cards and the box using mutlipurpose liquid glue.
• I then stamped my required images on thick Whipser White. I coloured them using my Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. 
• I also fussy cut from the DSP a small castle and 2 mermaids.
• Punch vellum leaves using the leaf punch.
• I added all my bits and pieces to the cards and the box to complete each design.

This stamp set comes as a bundle and is available right up until the 31st May 2018 along with the gorgeous DSP AND the Mini Pizza boxes.

Stampin Sunday Blog Hop - True Gentlman

Celebrate In Style

I have kept the colour scheme quite simple for this design as I wanted to use Gold Embossing as highlights.
With a combination of repeat stamping (background) and e small square of the True Gentleman DSP I managed to create a good base to work with.
The card stock with the repeat stamping was wiped around the edge with versamark ink and then lightly dusted with gold embossing powder and heated to melt. I repeated this process until I was happy with the effect. I then wiped Night of Navy ink over the  gold embossing to add an aged effect.

Treat Box

I have created a matching treat box using a matching square of the True Gentleman DSP.

This gorgeous little box is perfect for the DAD that has everything but you still like to give him little treats. The size I created fits a Ferraro chocoalte nicely. You can make this box large (as your square DSP allows) or as small as you like.

Here is a template that is readily available online for you to convert to any size square you desire.
