BLUE - Water Colour Wings using Water Colours

#KOCreationscards #Watercolourwings #Watercolourpainting #Cardmaking #Papercrafting #Stampinup #Butterflies #Blue

Welcome back everyone.
I took a little break before the Christmas rush period to spend some time with my family...We don't get a lot of time over the Christmas due to work commitments unfortunately.
My holiday was inspirational though as visiting the Melbourne Zoo and the Butterfly House was my inspiration for my card project today.

I decided I would jump straight back into creating by playing with water colours! It's one of my most favourite ways to add colour to a background.
I hadn't pulled out the gorgeous Water Colour wings stamp set for a while either so, I put the two together and came up with this striking little number!
I am entering this card into the Crazy Crafters Weekly Team Highlights.
I LIKE IT THAT MUCH lol

Butterfly Thinlits - CC Team Highlights

Hello everyone 😘

So sorry for my absence this week, but I have had a bit of a back issue that has put me out of action for a most of this week.
I have completed two cards created during the week though, in little snatches of time that I could stand or sit with out pain.
One was made for a blog hop and will be blogged on Sunday.
And the other I am entering it into the Crazy Crafters Team Highlights.

You can vote for my card by clicking HERE

And here is my card

For You

#KOCreationscards #Butterflies #Cardmaking #Stampinup #Layeringsquares #Nature

The base of my card is Thick Whisper White with layers on Weld Wasabi and Whisper White and Basic Black.
This card is a mix of a few stamp and die sets that I have had sitting out during the week.
I have used the Dies from the Butterflies Thinlits set along with stamps from Happy Birthday Gorgeous and Labeler Alphabet and a die from the Seasonal Layers thinlits and another die from the Layering Squares framelits.

#KOCreationscards #Butterflies #Cardmaking #Stampinup #Layeringsquares #Nature

I used embossing paste with the Butterfly thinlit and then cut two butterflies using the same thinlit. One in white and one in vellum. I added glitter enamel dots in Berry Burst for the body of the butterfly. The stamping has been done in Berry Burst and Wild Wasabi. The string is Linen thread that has a Corrugated Element tied to it. I coloured a hear from the Hearts and Stars Elements in memento black.

I do hope you enjoyed my card projects today.

Our theme this month is Weddings.

And as I have a friend getting married this November I thought I would make their wedding card now...I am also making their invitations...so, I may not have time to get the wedding card done later!

Here it is :)

Front View

#KOCreationscards #Flourishingphrases #Floralphrases #Sunshinewishesthinlits #Weddedbliss #Love #Twohearts #Butterflies #Flutteringembossingfolder

I chose traditional colours for their card, plus I know what the colour scheme is for the wedding hehehe. That always makes for an added personal touch.

Method

  • This card has 4 layers on the front,  before reaching the card base itself. The inside has two layer on top of the base.

  • You can just see in the back ground of the card front the edges of silver lace...This was stamped using the Delicate Details stamp set on a seperate piece of basic black card stock.

  • For the focal card stock piece (Whisper White) I used the embossing folder Fluttering. This was layered direcetly onto Silver Foil and that was layered directly onto Basic Black card stock, which in turn was layered onto the stamped and Silver heat embossed lace images.

  • For the focal images, I chose the Sunshine Wishes scribble heart. This has been die cut in silver and black and then layered on top of each other but slightly askew..

  • The butterflies have been punched using the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty butterfly punches, This has also been done in silver and black. For the flourish on the butterflies, I embossed in silver the flourish from the flourishing phrases stamp set. I then cut my butterflies so that one side of each had part of the flourish showing..

  • When all focal pieces had been put in place, I then placed the whole lot onto dimensionals and attached to the base.

  • The sentiment for the inside is from Floral Phrases. This has been stamped first in versamark embossing ink then stazon jet black. I then lightly dusted half of the sentiment in silver embossing powder and heated. This gives a two toned effect. I added the two butterflies to aid in carrying the theme through to the inside.

  • To finish this card I used the Congratulations sentiment from the Floral Phrases stamp set mounted on a banner, I then added some sequins from the metallics sequins assortment.

I hope you like this card enough to consider voting for me. Click the pic below and find my card in the pics. Click the heart to vote for my card project.

Colour INKspiration Creative Challenge #06

Welcome back crafters

#Thatsthetag #Loveyourmum #motherslove #KOCreationscards #Inspiredbylove #Thankyou #ColourINKspiration #CI06 #Butterflies

I am loving life right now :)...
I was chosen to be a guest designer for Colour INKspiration...

A wonderful Facebook group that get together once a fortnight and work on a new colour swatch for us.
They then blog their creativity in a hop to inspire our creativity with.
And I am part of the hop!! Whoot Whoot :D
HAPPY DANCE ME lol
Such an honour to be part of this.
Thank you Bronwyn x

Here is the colour swatch for this fortnight.
Night of Navy, Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Gold Foil
How fabulous are those colours, right!

My Mum does a fair bit for me, as Mums tend to do. She is my number one fan!
My Mum supports my creative habit, attends all of my classes that I teach and helps me with the kids when needed too.
So, to let her know how much she is appreciated, I have made her a little gift using the colours above...I am going to fill the bag with chocolates :) she loves choccies.
It doesn't have to be mothers day to let your Mum know how much you love her, does it?
No!

This was the perfect opportunity for me to try out the 'That's the Tag' bundle and the 'Gift Bag' Punch Board.

Here are my projects.

Timeless Tags

For my Mum

#Thatsthetag #Loveyourmum #motherslove #KOCreationscards #Inspiredbylove #Thankyou #ColourINKspiration #CI06 #Butterflies

I used 1 sheet of  'By The Shore' DSP. The Calypso Coral dots in lines was my chosen pattern.
This was just perfect to make my Gift Bag from and then try to build up the other colours with my tag and corresponding layers.

#Thatsthetag #Loveyourmum #motherslove #KOCreationscards #Inspiredbylove #Thankyou #ColourINKspiration #CI06 #Butterflies

For the tags on both projects, I used Gold Foil for the backing.
I used Night of Navy for the front of the tag, with the butterfly cut out. This enabled the gold foil to peep though nicely.
I tied both both the gold and night of navy tags together with metallic gold thread, so they could swing loosley and apart from each other too.

I added a gold embossed calypso coral flower with a gold metallic shape to carry those colours through a little more.

#Thatsthetag #Loveyourmum #motherslove #KOCreationscards #Inspiredbylove #Thankyou #ColourINKspiration #CI06 #Butterflies

To add the Pool Party colour in the mix I added a banner behind the tags with a bow, just below the gold binder clips which hold everything in place..

Did you notice the little butterflies on the card???
They were the waste from the cut out on the tag!...I hate to throw things away and I feel it adds a bit of depth to the card as well as adding another interest point :)

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today and I hope you have enjoyed my projects.
Please keep hopping through to the next blog. The lovely Bronwyn Eastley of Addinktivedesigns is up next :)

Falling Papillons - #CI02

Hello everyone :)
Welcome back to my blog.
I have been quite busy these last few days creating a number of cards.
I have created one for a colour challenge, one for a blog hop and one for a on order, with  another 3 cards still half made lol...I also have another order to make a start on plus try and fit in another challenge...
Why do I particpate in challenges!?! I have had that question asked of me a number of times!
One of my main reasons for participating, is for the inspiration that you get. Seeing a colour combination that I wouldn't normally choose, really gets my mind ticking and my creative juices flowing.
Today's colour challenge from Colour INKspiration has been a real challenge as they are definitely colours I wouldn't normally put together.

They are soft cool colours that remind you if succulents, and not just because of the picture below lol

Image may contain: plant and food

I really did struggle for nearly a week, as I wanted to use all 5 of the colours!
Putting them all together in a way that blended nicely proved to be really difficult for me. But as with most things I gave it some time, slept on it for a few days......pulled out stamp sets, then put them all back again haha. Nothing seemed to jump out at me and scream - ME USE ME!!!
UNTIL
I finally had a little idea forming.

I thought that some of the stamps from our annual catalogue were being forgotten, with all the other gorgeous stamp sets that have just been released. And because Stampin' Up's! stamp sets are so readily mixed and matched I thought I would blend some old and new together

Soooo yesterday I thought to my self, Just Do It!
Only just finished it, like 10 minutes ago lol

Here is my card ;)

Falling Papillons

Front View
#Papillonpotpourri #Fallingflowers #Sealedwithlove #KOCreations #CI02 #Butterflies #Colourinkspiration

With this card I decided not to have a sentiment. This was mainly due to wanting to keep the card clean and keep the focus on the colour and design..

SIDE VIEW
#Papillonpotpourri #Fallingflowers #Sealedwithlove #KOCreations #CI02 #Butterflies #Colourinkspiration

To make this pretty card I distressed the edges of the Whisper White (140490) front.
I then stamped three colours slightly staggered with the paint brush stamp from the Sealed With Love stamp set (142815). These ink colours were Wisteria Wonder (126985), Mint Macaron (138326) and Soft Sky (131181).
Over this I stamped the flourish in Garden Green ink (126973) from the Falling Flowers Bundled set (142329).
I also stamped and die cut the smallest flowers 4 times, fussy cutting just two so I could layer to add more dimension.
I then stamped and punched the butterflies (Papillons) from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set (123759) in the corresponding colours. 1 of both size.
I glued the smallest one to the top of it's mate and placed them on dimensionals (104430) above the paint mark images.
I added a rhinestone to the middle of both flowers and in the area of the curled leaves in parts of the flourish.

For the cards base I used Garden Green (108605)

Just to carry the theme through to the inside just a little, I stamped the flourish again off the paper. I added the small flower stamped image and a rhinestone to complete.

TIP*

If like me you don't yet own all the ink pad colours invest in some re-inker and sponges! You can add colour to your stamps just by applying a few little drops to a clear block, spreading out with a sponge then use your stamp like normal but onto the inked clear block. You can even out any patchiness by using the sponge!
