Flourishing Fairy Celebrations

Welcome back to my blog crafters

Today I am sharing a card made for a sweet little girl who is turning 7 on Thursday.

I created this card using the 'Fairy Celebration' stamp set mixed with 'Falling Flowers' stamp set and the matching May Flowers dies

Happy Birthday

#KOCreationcards #Imbringingbirthdaysback #Fairycelebration #Fallingflowers #Mayflowerframelits #Watercolouring

For the original card I chose to use the same colour as a layer as the colour I used for the flowers and spots.

I adored how this turned out. By adding a small flourish and flower to the top left corner inside the card  I carried the theme through nicely.

I loved it so much that when I had completed it I decided to make 3 more to put with and order for my outlet. I had been asked for a certain few cards and birthday cards for younger girls was one request.  These are perfect!

I also make cards for friends, family and of course my customers, just to say thank you 😍.
Then there is the Random Act of Kindness cards too... A wonderful group I am part of that exists soley to bring a smile to others. We share ideas using current Stampin' Up! product and it is so much nicer to find a card in your ail box than a bill!.
You join, add your name to the files and monthly event and then randomly select  a few names of a list of particpating people. Then send them out the cards, it's that simple! Oh the theme is ecouragement...not birthdays, christmas etc.. Only as some people don't celebrate these times and occasions.

Below you can see some of the steps that are taken to create these cards. I wrote a description for the steps under the picture.

Creating Steps

#KOCreationcards #Imbringingbirthdaysback #Fairycelebration #Fallingflowers #Mayflowerframelits #Watercolouring

  1. Trim all cards stock to size and then stamp and die cut flowers.
  2. Stamp images, then mask and daub colour inside masked area. I used Wild Wasabi for this.
  3. Colour images...I coloured with a single colour at a time....moving through the images.  Once completed I added Clear Wink of Stella over the top of the flowers and Fairy wings. The cards are very sparkly IRL...I tried to capture it, but failed ...sorry.
  4. Die cut the are previously masked. Then die cut out a scalloped oval in matching coloured card stock to flowers and spots. Also cut an oval in the diamond glitter paper.
  5. Assemble layers.
  6.  NOT PICTURED. I covered the fairy wings and spots with Fine-Tip glue.

Falling Papillons - #CI02

Hello everyone :)
Welcome back to my blog.
I have been quite busy these last few days creating a number of cards.
I have created one for a colour challenge, one for a blog hop and one for a on order, with  another 3 cards still half made lol...I also have another order to make a start on plus try and fit in another challenge...
Why do I particpate in challenges!?! I have had that question asked of me a number of times!
One of my main reasons for participating, is for the inspiration that you get. Seeing a colour combination that I wouldn't normally choose, really gets my mind ticking and my creative juices flowing.
Today's colour challenge from Colour INKspiration has been a real challenge as they are definitely colours I wouldn't normally put together.

They are soft cool colours that remind you if succulents, and not just because of the picture below lol

I really did struggle for nearly a week, as I wanted to use all 5 of the colours!
Putting them all together in a way that blended nicely proved to be really difficult for me. But as with most things I gave it some time, slept on it for a few days......pulled out stamp sets, then put them all back again haha. Nothing seemed to jump out at me and scream - ME USE ME!!!
UNTIL
I finally had a little idea forming.

I thought that some of the stamps from our annual catalogue were being forgotten, with all the other gorgeous stamp sets that have just been released. And because Stampin' Up's! stamp sets are so readily mixed and matched I thought I would blend some old and new together

Soooo yesterday I thought to my self, Just Do It!
Only just finished it, like 10 minutes ago lol

Here is my card ;)

Falling Papillons

With this card I decided not to have a sentiment. This was mainly due to wanting to keep the card clean and keep the focus on the colour and design..

To make this pretty card I distressed the edges of the Whisper White (140490) front.
I then stamped three colours slightly staggered with the paint brush stamp from the Sealed With Love stamp set (142815). These ink colours were Wisteria Wonder (126985), Mint Macaron (138326) and Soft Sky (131181).
Over this I stamped the flourish in Garden Green ink (126973) from the Falling Flowers Bundled set (142329).
I also stamped and die cut the smallest flowers 4 times, fussy cutting just two so I could layer to add more dimension.
I then stamped and punched the butterflies (Papillons) from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set (123759) in the corresponding colours. 1 of both size.
I glued the smallest one to the top of it's mate and placed them on dimensionals (104430) above the paint mark images.
I added a rhinestone to the middle of both flowers and in the area of the curled leaves in parts of the flourish.

For the cards base I used Garden Green (108605)

Just to carry the theme through to the inside just a little, I stamped the flourish again off the paper. I added the small flower stamped image and a rhinestone to complete.

TIP*

If like me you don't yet own all the ink pad colours invest in some re-inker and sponges! You can add colour to your stamps just by applying a few little drops to a clear block, spreading out with a sponge then use your stamp like normal but onto the inked clear block. You can even out any patchiness by using the sponge!
