Touches Of Texture and Suite Sentiments

Welcome back crafty people :)

I have a quick blog post today...well I will try to make it quick as I haev a FB Live vid booked at 3.30pm this afternoon lol

I thought I would share with you a fave stamp set of mine. 

Touches Of Texture (Annual Catty 143251 pg 141)

It is such a versatile set and paired with Suite Sentiment (Occassions Catty 142971 pg 54) it can be used for ANY occassion!

This is what I made a couple of days ago in between loads of other jobs and crafty bits. 

I got the idea when creating another set of  cards sunday ready for R.A.K,  they were also entered into #GDP081. Click HERE to view that post and the cards.

It's funny how one idea can lead to another at times.

These cards are so quick and simple to make..

To start all I did was use the corn flower stamp and repeatedley stamped on a half A4 sheet of Thick whisper white.

I then cut this in to a square shape. I chose one flower and coloured that flower only. 

In the picture above, left card is Melon Mambo right is Pumpkin Pie.

I cut that square in to 4 little squares and backed them onto black card stock leaving only a 4 mm edge between the squares. I then trimmed them.

For the back ground I used the same colour as the flower and stamped the splatter from Touches of Texture.

Whe the card front stamping was completed I popped the squares up on dimensionals and stuck the to the card front.

The card stock is Thick Whisper White and basic black.

To finish the cards and add a touch og bling I added some black sequins from the metallics sequin assortment.

For the inside of the card I used the splatter inside and then stamped the corn flower over the top.

Today I am participating in a blog hop with a wonderful team that I am a member of The Crazy Crafters...I feel so lucky to be part of this group #bestteamever.

Our blog hop today is with special guest Mikaela Titheridge

 Mikaela has so many gorgeous projects to choose from, but I did notice a longer thin style top fold card a number of times amongst her posts. So that was my base layout for my projects.
Then I found this!
This is the image that inspired my projects for this wonderful blog hop.



 Mikaela had made up some kit gift boxes from the Perfectly Wrapped kit and loved the colours she made cards to match.


I too loved these colours!
 They just spoke to me.
And I hadn't used my Pumpkin Pie ink pad yet :) lol perfect excuse. I chose to work with only the Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black, I didn't add any Emerald Envy into my projects at all.

Have you ever been creating and found that your project takes on a life of it's own! This is one of those times!...I had to physically make myself stop putting things on this card.
 I kept looking at it and wanting to add more!
I just didn't feel happy with it, so I just walked away and went and had lunch.

When I returned I just went WOW!!
Yep, so glad I walked away, and created the inside :)

The sentiment on the front is from the 'Suite Sentiments' stamp set

I love the inside of this card so much!
So much so, that the inside images I had stamped together got my creativity happening again!
I just had to make another card with the same layout, but using these images in the format that I had just done above.

It is such a stark contrast to the first card!
I think it's mainly because of all the white..I just couldn't handle it, lol.
 I am beginning to realise I don't like alot of empty space!

 So, I just had to fill some of the area with sequins and splashes from the 'Touches Of Texture' stamp set. 

I stamped the dragonfly's top layer in vellum, then coloured behind the image. I die cut and trimmed off the head and body, added a glue dot and placed it atop the stamped image underneath.

For the inside I kept it even simpler still. I just used a splash of colour from the background stamp in the 'Touches Of Texture' stamp set.
